⸻ (Nikolai’s POV — Third Person) She shouldn’t have looked that good. Nayla was supposed to fade. Disappear. He’d done everything to make sure of it. Every application she sent? Every reference she submitted? He made calls. Blocked them all. It wasn’t personal— Not really. It was just easier if she stayed dependent. Quiet. Forgotten. But she wasn’t. She was glowing. The door swung inward. Nala was sitting on the narrow bed inside, legs crossed, posture stiff, chin lifted like she was still in a palace lounge and not under containment. Her hair was still perfectly arranged. Her clothes were still expensive. Even her anger looked styled. That was the thing about people like her, privilege made them believe reality would always adjust itself to keep them comfortable. She looked up, and when she saw me, her eyes lit with a fury that had nowhere to go for days. “You,” she spat.

Nala said boldly, and I smiled at her. "Well, Nala. I am a Gamma, and I can hold my own. Cindy is an Omicron and fights better than most Warriors; Racheal is a tough cookie too. They couldn't walk all over us even if they wanted to." I said, and she rolled her eyes very disrespectfully. I held down my anger and tried to tolerate her. The girl was a walking menace. I did not know what was going on in her head, and she was being really unbearable.

I say. "Good," Kaelan replies and then goes silent again. The pack members stand around, each looking at Nalia with a mix of contempt and pity. They are all expecting justice to be done. I looked up from the floor and saw the beautiful brunette from the pictures. "Luna, this is Channing. She has just joined the pack," Allen announced. I saw her nod, then they both kinda zoned out. Probably mind linking. She gasped and quickly kneeled down to me. "What are you doing Lainee?" I heard a muffled voice in the room question. Luna, or Lainee stood up. "I'm kneeling before a warrior wolf. The Alpha of the Black Moon Warriors," she replied awestruck. Before I could even say anything a girl with black hair like Allen's popped out of the room looked at me before bowing like her Luna.

Neither of them moved. Their Eyes stuck on the body. Blood pooled from its wounds; its arm twisted at an angle that made Maddie wince, but she couldn’t look away. Nala was a great warrior. She was strong and fast and didn’t take any shit from her male counterparts for being a woman. Though they hadn’t really talked before, she had offered her help to Maddie and seeing her so broken and alone made acid burn in her throat.
