Audrie and I continue to meet downtown at a quaint little coffee shop before our patrol shits. Luckily she is an even bigger caffeine addict than I am. It’s during these times when she has been spilling all the pack tea - it’s nice, even if it is gossip it makes me feel so much more connected here. I tried not to be so obvious about my interest in Beta Grayson or Alpha Zac, but Audrie saw right through me. Busted. Alpha Zac and Fiona are not mates, nor are they even dating. I guess he is a “nice” guy but tends to be a playboy.

Beau sighed and said to Marigold, "I-I think y-you l-look… Okay." Marigold looked down saying, "Thanks Beau." Marigold held her arm with one hand and gripped her dress with the other. Beau looked at her and sighed. "My boy, where are you," a man's voice called. Nathaniel walked into Marigold's room saying, "Ah, there you are. I've been looking all over for you, we have business to take care of." Nathaniel glanced over at Marigold, seeing her all dressed up, and said, "Oh aren't you a sight for sore eyes Marigold. This annoyed Henry greatly and he pushed for us to have the official Marking Ritual. I was glad Mason was staying away. I had my heart set on Henry now and had not time for Mason or Diane. They were my past. Henry and I soon had our Marking ceremony. My family and pack were informed of my upcoming marking this time. They were really happy for me. On a cool evening we held the Ritual surrounded by friend and family. There, Henry changed my temporary Mark to a permanent one.

My mouth goes dry as we lock eyes. Yet, my spirit stirs. “It won’t be much of a contest,” my father remarks, as if he’s talking about the weather, not the destinies of two living beings. “No.” Marius grins maliciously. “We thought we’d break him in tonight. We have something a bit more thrilling planned for him at the festivities tomorrow night.”

Nicholas is lost for words, "Through the bond, we felt the emotions you were going through, and we got worried," Nalani explains quietly. That's when I noticed the mark on Duncan's neck. However, she doesn't bear his mark. "Did you talk?" Nicholas asks. "Yes," "So?" they ask in uniform. They glare at each other for a heartbeat. What had gone on while they stood here? I easily slip into Nalani's head: she and Nicholas bicker. Nicholas had threatened to unalive Duncan if he hurt me or if I walked out of the forest crying, and Nalani shot back at him with a snarky comment.

Barefoot, I walked toward the beach, wanting to feel the breeze. For some reason, the soft sand beneath my feet felt both cold and painful. "Fiora," Lucian said as he caught up with me. "That bastard dared to treat you like that! Don't worry, I'll have both of them kicked out of the pack." "It's not necessary. I asked Kaia to confess to Chris at tonight's party," I said flatly. "What?" "I'm going to sever my mate bond with Chris." Lucian placed his hand on my forehead. "Are you sick? What nonsense are you talking about? Chris is your mate, and you two are destined to be together. Don't you love him?"

I was here for revenge, and I would make sure I get it. "Alright, Dominic, they can stay here for the time being, just for a few weeks," Marc said. "Alright, Uncle Marc," I heard Dominic reply as I tried peeping down the stairs, hoping to get a visual glimpse of what was going on. I watched Marc leave with Uncle Gavin, and standing right there at the door were Dominic and his men. I found it mostly hard for my gaze to retract from Nate. Why was he here? I was quite sure that even if Dominic didn't possibly recognize me, there was no way Nate wouldn't.

Nathan replies, earning himself a glare from Dara in my defense. “I swear to the Goddess, Nathan, if you ever decide to switch the team you bat for, I’ll marry you in a heartbeat if you make this at least weekly,” I say, shoving another bit in my mouth and moaning obnoxiously as I suck the spoon clean. Nathan blows me an overly dramatic kiss. At the tiniest groan from his wolf boyfriend, Nathan turns to Marc and pulls him in for a proper kiss. “I only have eyes for you,” Nathan tells Marc.
