The guards replied and Duncan proceeded in questioning them starting with the girl. “Who are you working for?” Duncan asked the girl sternly but she did not answer. Yet her eyes were firm against him. Duncan could tell she wasn't the easy type. But still, Duncan was the lord of this place and they were going to answer to him no matter what. The boy seemed to realise that and so he spoke instead. “My name is Emryn, and I am a necromancer.” Duncan nodded, urging Emryn to continue. Maybe he wouldn't be so tough on them as long as they spoke the truth. There was nothing Duncan hated more than lies.

"Uh necromancers hide in the guise of children to allow them to move through the world undetectable. Most can only speak to the dead but the powerful ones can travel to The Hallow and bring the dead back. They don't have souls so they trade for them. Meaning they will bring your loved one back but it'll cost you your soul or someone else's. Why are you interested in this anyway?" Simon asked growing skeptically. "No, it's just a summon. I'm a necromancer." That was surprising. There weren't a lot of necromancers among Mages since it was one of the most difficult classes to master. And I could tell this guy was already a Master, despite being so young. You know those stereotypes of necromancers being old men or creepy-looking cult leaders? Well, it's because mastering necromancy takes decades, or if you take shortcuts it takes a toll on your body and mind. Unless you were especially gifted, which I suspect this guy is. The air around him fairly sizzled with power despite his efforts to hide it.

She had told him about their scary and terrifying figures and their names. The one who was a tall and had gaunt figure with sunken eyes that glowed like smoldering coals was named Morgrath. Her black robes hung loosely around her skeletal frame, giving her an air of ethereal menace. Morgrath was a master of necromancy, capable of commanding the spirits of the departed to do her bidding. Seraphina had told him was said that she wore jewellery made out of the bones and cursed artifacts, which were remnants of her twisted experiments.
