I most definitely didn't hate him but did I- Suddenly, I was grabbed by my hips and my legs went around Narc's waist snapping me out of my thought. I stared at his eyes. Red fucking eyes. The Martinez gene. It was unbelievable that some people could even possess the eye colour red but him and his family was living proof that It's possible. Red was most infamously known to be the colour of anger and in his reputation, he had the worst anger temper I have ever seen before. Never have I ever thought of it as love because it could potentially be like that. Guess it will always be some sort of fucking mystery.

Nine Years Later Red. It is everywhere, drenching the room in its rich, provocative splendor. Red, like the taste of dark cherries and the burn of vintage wine. Red, like whispered temptations and silent threats lurking behind polite smiles. The color of love and war. Of passion and destruction. Of blood.

Bright, human red. And it didn't stop.

“Go!” I scoff incredulously at her, and she chuckles before shooting me a wink. “Goodnight, Maria,” I say and roll my eyes as I open the door. Nero looks up when I walk outside, and I am struck again at how handsome he is. Today he’s not wearing a suit, but dark jeans, a black leather jacket and a white t-shirt that pulls across his chest and thick biceps. His dark hair is all mussed up as if he’s been running his fingers through it all day, and his eyes… Gods, his eyes feel like a tide pulling me in.

Then the corner of his mouth moves into a smirk when he speaks again. "I am Alpha Marius Peddleton." he said in a low but sharp voice. "Of the Red Moon Pack." There's a dead silence after that. Even Alpha Robert goes pale. The Red Moon Pack is known for its ruthless discipline, cold efficiency and wealth of influence. They don't interfere in regional matters. They don't visit council chambers. And yet here he is. He is now standing in the heart of River Moon territory and radiating power like he owns the place. Danica's eyes are wide. Ryan swallows hard. Then Marius turns his attention back to me and softening only slightly as our eyes meet again. I can see it in his gaze.

It's a stroke of brilliance if I do say so myself. The excitement that bubbled inside me was practically electric. I've meticulously planned every neon detail, from the dazzling decorations to the pulsating music. It's going to be a night of neon chaos and absolute euphoria. This party is bound to be the talk of the town, and I'm the maestro orchestrating every vibrant note of it.

But she wasn't her Kelvin didn’t speak, but the thought hung between them. He gritted his teeth, hating how easily memories slithered in when he least expected them. A pale hand reaching for him. Not in comfort—but to kill. A voice, soft and cold at once: “You remind me of him. You are him.” The sting at his neck. The red. The betrayal. Alex touched the faint scar beneath his collar, fingers ghosting over the line no one else could see.
