Renna Just before I can go back to sleep, my heart still pounding from the revelation, I hear a deafening scream. It pierces through the night, filled with fear, not the sound I would expect Sage to make, having witnessed them together on more than one occasion. I hastily check my tent, peering outside to ensure the coast is clear before sprinting towards the treeline where the screams originate. The coldness of dread courses through my veins, my mind racing to comprehend what could be happening, but I cannot simply abandon someone in distress.

I really had to stop doing this before this man would get the idea that I was giving him soft signs. I stood still for a while and crossed my arms. "You should really stop," I said as I crossed my arms covering my breasts and hoping that he wont see how fast my heart was beating. "I cant though. I have been having these nightmares," he said softly. "I keep seeing flames, I hear someone screaming and then, I see a woman crying. I cant tell who the woman is but she is sobbing and then I hear vows. Beautiful vows."

"AHHHHHHHH!" The scream ripped out of me before I was even awake. I bolted upright, chest heaving, skin cold with sweat—and there they were. “Okay, what the hell?” Rhea crashed into the room like a hurricane in an oversized t-shirt and bunny slippers, eyes wide, hair in a messy bun. “You screamed like you were being murdered!” Elias was just behind her, quiet and sharp-eyed, already scanning the room like he expected an attacker. His voice was low. “Nightmare again?”

Night crept over the city, bringing the nightmare with it. In Malik’s room, darkness pressed around him like a living entity. His breathing grew erratic as he tossed in sleep. In his dream, faces from the past appeared: Amal and Sophia stood before him, pale, massive snakes coiled around their necks, spitting venom, hissing terrifically through the stillness. Then Nasser appeared, his blood-stained clothes, a knife in hand, his eyes lifeless. Beside him, Nour gripped a thick rope, advancing slowly, menacingly. All of them gathered in a hellish tableau, a familial pact from hell, intent solely on ending Malik’s life. He screamed, trying to escape, but his body was paralyzed. He felt the snak

I felt the blood oozing down my face as it hit the roof while I hung upside down." "That's terrible," Valerie said as she shuddered.

When I don't hear another sound after a while, I go back to sleep. "Anna!" I hear someone scream right next to me and I freeze. It is an eerie sound that causes all of my warning bells to go off in my head, but when I don't move, nothing happens. I lay there completely still for several hours with the sweat dripping down my face and I feel like I am going to die tonight. It's an inexplicable feeling of dread and sadness, but it's very real. "Anna." The scream is even louder now and it sounds like it's coming from inside my head.

The gut-wrenching scream tore through the eerie silence of the night. The nurse on night duty burst into the room, startled by the sound. Samantha was thrashing in her bed, her legs tangled in the sheets, fists clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
