Hard to believe I’m days away from popping. My stomach is stretched far too much, my back aches, the fake contractions have me freaking out, and my feet are like balloons. I’m ready for the Little Nightmare to come out. The nickname Little Nightmare seems to be sticking. It’s slightly fitting as her father is a demigod of death and her mothers is a lycan. These are definitely two things that would give normal people nightmares, and Everly is a combination of those things. We decided to call her Ever as a cute nickname and Little Nightmare as her nickname for when she is driving us crazy.

I opened my mouth to throw some biting remark back at him, but Peter chose that exact moment to slide his chair closer. “Nia,” Peter said, “we never finished our conversation last night. I’m hosting a little after-hours party at the Sky Lounge. You should join.” Before I could answer, Adler cut in, his voice smooth but laced with steel. “She won’t be attending. She has… other obligations tonight.” Peter’s eyes flicked between us, realization dawning. “Oh,” he said, smug and condescending. “Didn’t realize she was already… tied up.” Mr. Andrews’ jaw ticked. “She is.”

Black as midnight. A phantom.

A couple of seconds have passed as we both tried to catch our breaths. He looked over his shoulder instead. "I think we los-" The car flew off the end of the unfinished bridge into thin air. - - ┈┈∘┈˃̶༒˂̶┈∘┈┈ - - My eyes felt heavy. My entire body is sore. Constant ringing in my ears. Gabriella. Gabriella. "Gabriella." A faint voice called out. I slowly fluttered my eyes, everything was blurry. "Gabriella woke up!" there's the voice again. "Please baby come on! You need to wake up."

But I never had my own pheromones. And before I knew it, I gasped and woke up. ~.~ I focused my eyes on the ceiling above me. It took me a goddamn minute to realise it was just a dream, and I was fine. I sighed and sent both my hands through my hair. 'What was that dream??' I groaned painfully. 'Seemed like a memory.' Sparkle replied. 'Where are we now???' 'You collapsed.' 'WHAT?!' 'Welcome to hell, Eve.' she laughed.

She was never going to surrender to him; he bought her, but he couldn't buy her life. She was going to make sure she made his life a living nightmare. She was going to make him regret ever buying her and let her go. Yes, he was going to release her himself when he got tired of her. She grinned; he didn't know what he bought. He had just purchased a nightmare, and that nightmare was hers.

I scrambled out of bed in an instant. I cupped my mouth with my hands. Jonas took me home! He introduced himself to my parents as my friend. He didn't stay long. He left after that. "'Etincelle," I heard Mommy's voice. I whipped around and ran towards the door. I opened it. "Mommy," I called. My throat went dry. "You okay? You look like you just saw a ghost." "Uhh, nothing. I just woke up." "Don't you have a hangover? Were you drunk last night?"

‘WAKE UP!’ August’s voice jarred me awake. I frantically sat up, trying to figure out where I was, only to find I was still in the castle turret room turned into funhouse mirrors. So I’m not awake. I knew I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up when I heard August. “Stupid fucking shit witch….” I grumbled, getting to my feet and picking shards of broken mirrors from my palms. Nothing seems to have changed in this damn place. The broken mirror was still there with the same broken image of August dying like a puzzle I didn’t want to put together. I started looking at the other mirrors hoping something in them would give me a clue on how to escape this acid trip nightmare.

It is an infamous Shakespearean quote, "Expectation is the root of all heartache", but it was a headache in this case, because Lucas had expected his alarm to wake him up at the right time and since the stupid clock couldn't do that, he was now late, cranky and super tired. He didn't catch any sleep last night, pertaining to the fact that he was busy trying not to break down all over again. It had taken so much effort, just to remind himself that Evan didn’t understand any of his guilt and unlike him, the baby had even forgotten what had happened.

Two veterans at full power, even crazed, would shred me. I think. They were functional this afternoon. Arrogant, but coherent. The madness came with the night. It’s not random. There’s a trigger.
