“So let me get this straight. You want me to meet your family, confront my boyfriend, and pretend I’m fine with all of it tonight.”
Jason didn’t deny it. “I want you to stop shrinking yourself for people who don’t show up for you.”
For a long moment, I said nothing. Then I exhaled, rubbing my forehead.
“You’re reckless,” I muttered.
A faint smile tugged at Jason’s mouth. “Maybe. But I’m not wrong.”
I glanced at the clothes again, then back at him. “This doesn’t mean I’m agreeing,” I said.
Jason nodded. “It just means you’re standing up.”
