Rafaela insists, reaching for my hand. My strategy tonight is to blend into the wallpaper and not bring attention to myself. So I pull back from her hand. Undeterred, she stands abruptly and marches over to her… husband. Grabs his hand and tells him to dance. He gives her a look, annoyed and embarrassed, but she laughs it off. A few seconds later, she returns, her smile a little tighter. My eyes find Axel's across the table and Something shifts. I don’t know why, but suddenly I’m nodding to Rafaela.

His hand was gently placed on my back. Rafael finally turned to me. “Most of the staff here are wonderful,” he continued as he led me through the doors. The inner room was not as expected. The walls were a light shade of blue, and it had a typical cafe look to it. “Come,” he beckoned at me as we headed to an empty table. We sat directly across from each other. His shoulders squared as he placed both hands on the table. “Hi. Can I take your order?” A waitress approached us.

“We will stand by your orders.” I felt relieved at once, as they stood up to leave. “My Luna.” They bowed again, but this time, it sounded different. It was more respectful than the first. I remained seated until they turned to leave and I heaved immediately they all left except for Rafaello. Rafaello stayed behind. Soon, he stepped closer to the table. “Well done, my lady.” he said quietly. I looked at him. “Did I tremble?” “No, my lady. You did so well.” He said and bowed slightly.

A few days back in San Francisco Rafael was in one of his worst moods because it was Ruhi's birthday today, and he couldn't stop thinking about her or about the day he promised to take her on a fancy date. He had reserved a table for them in the most expensive and exquisite French restaurant days ago and had placed orders for many presents because he wasn't sure what she would like.

"I'd hope that was a shared language in this room." She sat back. Across the table, Lord Caius had the fixed expression of a man working hard not to show anything. Two lords near the far end were exchanging a look they believed was private. Rafael, at the head of the table in the First Seat, had not moved — not his hands, not his expression, not the particular quality of stillness he projected when something had caught his full attention and he was deciding what to do with it.

(Rafaela) With a dozens of assistant comes onto the stage, with them, one by one pulling out the presentation products that were hidden by white cloth and putting them on the prepared table display. With Rafaela cue, in a single motions, the Products were revealed. And just like me the entire hall were stunned.

Again. Rafael stood at the head of the obsidian table, fingers pressed flat against its surface. Veins corded along his forearms, pulsing beneath his skin like something trapped and angry. His crown lay discarded beside him—an affectation he no longer bothered with. Power didn’t need symbols. Power was. The commanders filed in at last. Five of them. Not eight. Rafael’s eyes flicked over the empty seats, and something dark coiled tighter in his chest.

Author's POV "You are looking refreshing today" Rafael teased her when she stood in front of him in a lemon colour dress. She just looked at him blankly. "Let's go... You must be hungry after crying and screaming." He wrapped his arm around her waist and looked at her adoringly. She was actually really hungry so she stayed quiet and followed him downstairs. She frowned when she saw everyone at the dining table, no one usually eats at the dining table. Everyone is busy with their own work.

RAFAEL WAS ALREADY seated at the table when she arrived on the terrace. He had a drink in his hand and his blue shirt was open at the neck and revealed just enough bronzed male flesh to draw her eyes for longer than she would have liked. Even dressed casually he looked cool, sophisticated and way out of her league. She scanned his handsome features and her heart bumped crazily against her chest. What was it about him that had such a powerful impact on her? She didn’t know and she didn’t understand it. But she knew that whatever had scarred him in the past, however bad his experiences had been, she didn’t want him to think her guilty of fraud.
