As soon as the screen came to life, my phone began to beep with many notifications, one being a text from the Royal Pack. “I see, I must have forgotten to turn this device on.” I mutter, embarrassed by my stupidity. Taking a few seconds, I swipe away any notification I deem not urgent, leaving the one from the Royal Palace for last. I know that Isabella has wolves who send these mass messages out to all Alphas and Betas, but part of me hopes, with how much of a news story the execution of a Royal is, that she would have sent this notification out herself. Sadly, the signature at the end is that of the former King, and I feel slightly empty inside.

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever news awaited me. "Rueben, we're glad you could join us,"the Queen said, her voice steady but with a hint of worry. "We have received some concerning information that we need to discuss." I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. "What is it, Your Majesty? What's the matter?" One of the council members stepped forward, his expression grave.
