His eyes stared at Bryan with a look of anger and hatred. “Go ahead, I don't care. But don't come to me if your skills only damage RoseGold's image.” Bryan grinned faintly. There was no fear in his heart despite seeing the anger in Jacob's eyes. He also didn't intend to undermine Jacob's abilities, it was just that if Bryan didn't intervene, who knows what would happen to some of the projects that he thought were crucial. Jacob handled quite a lot directly, but the results were less than satisfactory.

Blood sprayed across the underbrush. Ryker shifted late—too cocky, too slow. But he fought dirty. A swipe caught Link across the ribs. I screamed. And something inside me broke. The mark on my hand blazed. Fire erupted from my skin. Real fire. It curled around my arms like armor, danced down my spine, and poured from my mouth in a guttural scream that shattered the air. The wolves stopped. Even Ryker froze. I stepped between them, flames dancing in my eyes.

What if she changed over the last few years and is here to harm me? Her voice cut into the myriad of thoughts I was having. “See this? I'm a fire elemental, I'm usually not afraid of fire but you...” She put the fire out. “I couldn't withstand yours. The fire ate at everything it touched. Just, what the hell are you, Ruby? You remember me, don't you?” I didn't answer, instead glanced out to the field where half of the facility used to be. “Oh, that's right. We need to get out of here. This is the human realm, they've been unable to get close because of the fire outbreak, it doesn't mean they won't send drones once the smoke clears up.”

Rose POV I walked into the dining room very moody, maybe my period was coming, that thing come without any notice but then I noticed my mark is burning, I kept rubbing it to get the burns away but it was getting worst and driving me crazy "are you okay" my mother asked me with concerned look on her face "I don't know, my mark is burning and my wolf is not okay" the pain is getting worse and my wolf is weeping in my head "her mate is trying mark someone else, his mark on hers is responding to it" my father who was just coming out said seeing me and rushing t my side to support me

Two redwoods had caught fire, the flames licking higher over the bark. Adrenaline shot through me. Ruby was on the edge of the blaze, choking and coughing and beating at it with her jacket. “Focus on the underbrush,” I yelled as the firetruck came to a halt too far away. “Cut down the brush around the fire and get water on this!”

Ravyn and Joe glanced at each other before spurring their horses onward, galloping at full pelt. A huge explosion of fire erupted out of thin air to meet them. Ravyn and Joe's horses panicked and reared, whinnying in fear and alarm. Ravyn had to fight with her reigns to keep control. The heat of the fire was astounding, sending hot flushes running down her body. Joe beside her swore under his breath, signaling their men behind him to halt, to wait for the fire to clear. Ravyn blinked against the brightness of the flames, there was only one person who could command such power. Relief allowed Ravyn to give a little ghost of a smile on her lips. Sephora was alive.

The moment the humans realize something’s off, Caden’s fire ignites—flames flickering inside him, curling through his limbs. Drake roars, “NOW!” He tackles me to the ground just as Baylee releases her power. Wind whooshes through her shield, funnelling into Caden’s flaming hand—then explodes outward. Our warriors hit the ground. The humans don’t even scream. They vanish in a wave of white-hot fire, reduced to ash in seconds. The blaze consumes everything in its path—grass, weapons, the evil that brought them here. Baylee screams. The sound echoes for miles.

Fuck. He’s bleeding for me. And I’m bleeding for everyone else. The Wendigos are closing in, and if I don’t stop them, we’ll lose more than just our warriors. With a final glance toward Alex, his battle with Wynter still raging, I shout through the link, my voice commanding the entire battlefield, “Push forward! We finish this now!” A bright red fire snakes through the field, burning wendigos as it moves, before Sabrina pulls it back, focusing it on two wendigos charging towards her. Her arms, covered in runes, are raised, and her eyes blaze a glowing crimson.
