My mother had been sent back to the states with her unborn child. Sapphire was exotic and perfect. I could certainly admit that. She had inherited her father’s wolf traits. Where the rest of us were common red wolfes, Sapphire was a beautiful arctic wolf. Her most unique trait was her eyes though. She had one bright blue eye and one green. Even in human form her eyes and naturally frosted silver hair captured the attention of everyone.

Adalwolf It was dark and I was alone this time . But in a way, I could scent her . She was close . I tried to look for her but as her scent drew closer, I saw nothing again . I could feel the deep loneliness . My wolf howled in sorrow . She left me . My other half . My anchor . Then another female wolf came . She was different . Her fur was black with splotches of white . I recognized her but I still could not bring the name to mind .

But hopefully, this would just be the standard, run-of-the-mill, confused rogue. We followed the scent to a rocky hill that turned into a mountain, continuing up some rugged terrain. We dug our sharp claws into the stone, making our way up quickly and efficiently, stopping at a plateau partway up. Resting on the ledge, looking over the forested land, was a she-wolf with thick, dark-brown fur and icy-blue eyes. The three of us instantly surrounded her as she got up onto her four legs, turning to face us. She slowly moved her head, making eye contact with each of us one by one, her face emotionless.

“You lied what?” She made this hissing sound between her teeth, a gesture of great annoyance and hopefully not towards me, “He just popped up from somewhere, pointing his weapon to us when Xeno was looking out for you, and then he saw that I was poisoned by the wyvern’s bite and I found that he’s also got the same wounds just like mine so we ended up finding the cure inside a cave, where this amazing water healed not just the poison but any kind of injury in our bodies… he doesn’t know that I am a werewolf, Sapphire. And because he’s a stranger, I didn’t tell him my real name, and then… the connection. It just happened…”

She looked back into my eyes and I could see she could feel something but she obviously doesn't understand. I opened my mouth to plead with her but the moment I did, she turned and ran towards the river. As she dived in, she shifted mid air, into the most beautiful wolf I've ever seen. A glorious shade of copper with streaks of vibrant shimmering red that shone when the light of the moon caught it. “YOU! KEEP THEM BUSY. YOU WITH ME, WE ARE GOING AFTER HER.” I heard Jack order from behind me before I felt teeth sink into my arm.

Her name was Kaylan Humphrey-the only daughter of a one famous Hunter. Kaylan's mother-Sapphire-was well known in the wolf world as a dreaded and dangerous Hunter. She hated the existence of wolves and took it as her priority to wipe every one of them out. If not all, at least, as much as she could. She was the wolves' greatest enemy-every pack's nightmare as she was a great fighter and killed them perfectly each time she had the chance. Most nights, she was out hunting, just to kill any unlucky wolf. And Kaylan, was her only child . Father-unknown.

"Lyra, protect the Omega! I'll take the perimeter!" ​ He shifted instantly. I didn't see the transformation, only a massive, shimmering Silver Wolf—the color of liquid moonlight—leaping out of the car. The snarling of the other wolves immediately turned into terrified yelps. ​ Lyra unsealed the back door on my side. "Out! We need to move! “Shut up! Fucking shut up! Don't you get it?! They only loved me because I was your twin! They tolerated me because being close to you made me worth something.
