They didn’t raise their guns… but they didn’t smile either.
One of the guards pressed a finger to his earpiece, murmuring something low. Seconds later, the door swung open.
Torres stepped out.
He was mid-forties, tan suit despite the heat, gold chain glinting at his throat. His smile was lazy, but his eyes were sharp… the kind that measured every move before deciding if it was worth killing for.
“Ace,” he said, spreading his arms. “You are either very brave… or very stupid.”
Ace grinned. “Usually both.”
