The softness in her eyes was gone; replaced by fiery eyes thirsting for blood. “You said you loved me.” Lance said, trying to use her words against her. “Love is nothing but a painful feeling. It blinds us to our goals in life and I don't want to regret having not killed you, Daniel Cortez.” Vivian replied. “I joined NBCI for that purpose and I will fulfill it for my sister’s sake.”

The screams and murmurs still continued, two teachers had to come into the cafeteria to caution everyone. "Who is he?." I inquire immediately I and Suzy went back to our seat. "His name is Negan Carter." She says with a huge grin on. "Oh, ok." "He came to this school last week, every girls in this school haven't been themselves ever since then." "Really?." "Yeah. He is cute, isn't he?." Suzy says with her palms on her cheeks obviously daydreaming. "Yeah he is." I replied and glance at him. When she stumbled upon Vanessa’s social media account, Vivian’s patience was put to the test. She scrutinized posts spanning several years, her determination unwavering, until her eyes landed on a post from three years ago. The caption read: “Farewell to my beautiful sister, Lucy Hart.”

She closed her laptop and turned off the light. In the reflection on the darkened window, she could see her own faint frown. My sneakers slap the pavement, the rhythm too fast, too frantic, matching the hum buzzing under my skin. Vivian was actually an optimistic girl. She was 21 years old and she was supposed to be in university, but she had wasted two years because of the Soul-silencing Curse.

Vivian had been so consumed by jealousy that her eyes turned red as she stood among those seeing me off, muttering to herself over and over again, "I should've been the Boss's wife.
