His single eye sweeps over us coldly. “The rules are simple: survive until sunset or incapacitate your opponent,” his voice booms without any amplification. “Release the beasts!” The iron gate on the north side opens with a painful screech. From the darkness within, several level one and level two Feral Beasts emerge. They are nearly the size of elephants, with black and brown fur. Their fangs drip with venom. Their eyes glow red. And they have wings. The damn creatures hover slightly above the ground.

Vladimir replied to his Beast. "Then let me take over. I will definitely give him a painful death" His beast said as kept looking at Buddy with terrifying anger in his eyes. "No. If you did anything to that creature pup then it will hurt Rose and I don't want to do anything which will hurt our Rose" Vladimir replied looking at Rose whose face was glowing beautifully. "That fucker is taking my place. Rose can only caress my fur!" His beast said. "And Zachariah's beast too" His beast added a little later.

I moved like I was shedding my past, every motion a quiet rebellion against everything I’d lost. Vivia laughed beside me, spinning in her silver heels. “See? The other, smaller but faster, bore the faint mark of Iron Claw, all sharp angles and cunning eyes.

Dirt and shattered stone rained over me. A second beam of Vera’s power slammed into the wound I had made, pushing deeper. Clean light fought with the beast’s sick glow. “Nice teamwork,” Dax yelled from somewhere to my right. “Ten out of ten, would watch again if I was not busy not dying.” The beast jerked its head up. Its eyes flashed. Another wave of energy blasted out, not just forward this time but in a ring. It rolled across the whole field. Wolves screamed as it hit them. Some dropped to human form mid-swing. Wards by the backup line flickered, then burst like glass.

These ferocious beasts traveled fast and they arrived at Wildfox Ridge in good time. "Bastards of the alien race, show yourself and surrender! The great and victorious Tiger is here!" the tiger Beast Lord threw back its head and roared, its voice resounding through the woods. A few low-tiered fox Beast Lords were watching the entrance into the Ridge and they were about to demand answers from Jiu You and her underlings. Roar! The golden-maned lion gave a roar which turned out to be a soundwave attack with golden glittering ripples. Bang! Bang! Bang!

Whenever the little critters were exhausted and wanted to retreat, she would herd them back. Adrian was concerned that staying with them might make them too tame and cause them to lose their wildness. This time, three of them. “Finally,” one rumbled. “The beast who feeds on our little bridge.” Dax snarled. “Come and take me.” And they did. Swiftly. The impact shattered the ground, sending him sliding across broken stone. After some time, he rose again, bloodied but grinning wildly. The beast howled in triumph. He lunged. And tore into them with brutal force. But even he could not take down three Void Lords all alone.

He truly was magnificent. Jax, Rev and Preston were unconscious now and Baz spoke to me in my head, telling me that their beasts were ready to join with them. I looked at Jax and I took a step backwards as I saw a large blue beast merge with him. His back arched involuntarily as the beast settled inside him and he screamed suddenly as his mark appeared on his skin.

He was the devil that mothers warned their virgin daughters about. He was a Beast. A beast who ruled over all the beasts. He was the King of Beasts. Instead of replying her, he tangled his fingers in her golden mane, fisting them in his hand and yanked her back. She hissed through her teeth, watching him with a helpless expression. He had never seen her weak like this and his dead heart skipped a beat at her expression. He ran his eyes over her figure. She was still dressed in those cheap, ugly pajamas, he wanted to rip them off her beautiful body and bury her in the finest silk and jewels.
