She opened it a crack and slid inside, rushing down toward the kitchens. "Can I get some tea, Mary?" Olivia asked the kitchen maid that she ran into when she opened the door to the kitchens. "Olivia?" Mary said in astonishment. "Yes?" Olivia asked, feigning ignorance. "Where have you been? The manor's been in uproar looking for you," Mary said in a hush. Olivia's eyes went wide. No one else was in the kitchen, luckily, otherwise she would have been stuck. "I went out for a walk and a swim in the waterfall. I left before dawn," Olivia said quietly.

============= Olivia Herrington POV I smile walking out of the building I get into my car. I pull off the brunette wig. I shrug off the white shirt. I fix my tank top under it. I place my blonde hair in a messy bun. I shrug on a pair of skinny jeans and unzip the shirt. I throw it in the back. I shrug on a pair of sneakers. My phone rings. Thinking its Bridge, I answer. “Livia.” “Hey…” A familiar deep and soft voice causes me to pause.

Neither her stepfather nor Alyssa was ready for dinner so she had some time for her mother. Olivia headed to the back of the house where she hoped to see her mother. She spotted the shed at the far end of their house and smiles when she saw that her stepfather had forgotten the keys on the door. The door creaked loudly as she got in. Olivia held her breath as the smell of blood filled her nostrils. It wasn't something she'd ever get used to. The shed was dark but for the moonlight that came through a window at the end of it. That was where she'd escape from. She could hear the sounds of chain being dragged against the floor.

But after everything they’d gone through, could she truly trust him with her heart again? The next morning, Olivia woke up with a start, squinting at the light streaming through the curtains. She was sure she’d fallen asleep on the couch beside the window, so how did she end up on the bed? She put the thought behind her and reached up to rub her eyes, only to feel the tired heaviness beneath them. ‘Great’, she thought, heading for the mirror. The dark circles were unmistakable proof of her sleepless night. A soft rhythm of patters in the hallway caught her attention, followed by Eunice’s cheerful voice. She smiled to herself, getting off the bed to quickly go and get her ready for her return

Olivia sat on the leather couch with one leg crossed over the other, dressed in black silk, a wine glass resting lazily between her fingers. She looked...beautiful but out of place. She looked like she had just attended a funeral of a dear one. My eyes scanned the room before landing on hers. "What is this?” I asked. She didn’t look at me immediately. Instead, she swirled the wine once before finally lifting those sharp eyes to mine. “I was waiting for you.” She replied. The flames crackled softly between us and I shut the door behind me. “In my office and in mourning clothes?”

CHAPTER 71: Another attempt Olivia woke to the faint scent of cologne, dark, heavy, musky, familiar. Her lashes fluttered, and for a moment she thought she was still in the compound, still peeking at that mutilated body bleeding across the gravel. She managed to pry her heavy and weak eyes open. She was disconcerted when she found out that she was no longer in the compound, rather the velvet canopy above her head, the black silken sheets twisted around her, told her she was back in the bedroom she shared with her husband. It was at that point that she figured out that Nero must have carried her back here. After all it was his voice that she last heard before she passed out in the yard.

As much as Olivia wanted to fight for another room, scream to be let go and demand to be taken back to her father’s house, the great power of fatigue and exhaustion already overcame her without the use of Cillian’s Chamomile tea. She wanted to stay awake, for all she knew Alex could take her in her sleep. Chapter 09__Sounds of Night. Olivia jerked awake from sleep. She was sure something had woken her, but she wasn’t so sure what it was. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and looked up at the dark ceiling. Her gaze then shifted to the window. She couldn’t see anything or hear any sound as she listened for another few seconds. Yawning, she rolled out of bed and padded softly to the window. At least she could be grateful for the view from her room. Her window overlooked the beautiful garden she had seen earlier that day.
