Kierra, Mariela, Eva, and Mav step forward to begin chanting a spell. I try to walk toward Euphenia and Calla, but my body starts shaking. What's happening? I leap into the air over the others and land near the witches. My body seems to have a mind of its own as I kick Euphenia so hard that she flies back and hits a tree, making it fall.

They arrived at their desired location; a room which had a large wooden table and the pentagram hung on the wall. “Remove your clothes” the first witch ordered while the rest went standing by the edge of the table. Sonia took off her silk dress and was left with nothing but her panties. The witch asked her to take it off too and she complied. “Step forward and lay down on the table” the two witches who had taken positions at the edge of the table urged her. Sonia laid down at the table as she was instructed. The three witches began chanting in a mild language to which Sonia could control her view to watch closely as they circled the table.

It moves with deliberate purpose, guided by the witches' combined will, flowing down the chasm walls like a luminous waterfall in reverse. The channeling continues for what feels like hours but is probably only minutes. I notice most of the witches have gone pale now, their faces drawn with exhaustion. Matriarch Velindra's tired voice suddenly cuts through the night air: "Get ready. They're coming." The witches immediately stop their channeling. Instantly, a wave of Amadeus wolves surges forward with practiced precision. Each wolf grabs a witch and retreats in the same fluid motion, just as the first dark witch levitates up through the now-glowing fog and appears at the cliff's edge.

The other two witches lunched forward towards me, the wolf lurked at one of them, throwing itself on her and she shrieked in pain. These are times where i thank dad for making me do takwando lessons. I stared at the wolf who was still struggling with one other witches,when the other one i had kicked went towards it's direction. They continued to stare at each other without blinking and then finally, after a few seconds, she looked back at me. I took a confident step forward. The witches took a reluctant step back. I clenched my fists as I stared straight into her eyes, waiting for her reply. She craned her neck and gestured for her witch sisters to calm down. She then took a step forward as she uncrossed her arms.

Her body hits the wall causing her spell to die down around me. The smell of vanilla strikes my senses as I pass the staircase. I look to Lucian, and he has partially shifted using his claws to slash at the witches before they teleport into nothingness. Deciding that he has it under control I fight against the swirling wind and make my way up the stairs. A small witch is setting at the top of the stairs. Wind swirls around her but does not touch her as she sits peacefully.

She struggled slightly to get in and looked up at me somewhat embarrassed. “Short people problems”, she laughed shyly and shrugged her shoulders The moment she got in I got hit with the most intoxicating smell. It smelled like cinnamon and sugar mixed with something floral that I couldn’t quite recognize. Ajax started pacing in my head practically salivating over this girl we didn’t even know, who wasn’t even a werewolf, but a witch! What was his deal? “So Sierra, is it? Your dad tells me you’re in your senior year! That’s exciting”, my dad said breaking me from my own thoughts.

The tree glowed when their blood united. “We sacrifice our lives and our magic. From generation to generation the gift of magic shall be forgotten in our lineage.” The five witches declared. The oak tree glowed before the path created by the firestone disappeared while the relic(firestone) fell to the ground. Those five witches faded away while a tear dropped from Dania's eyes. “Are you ok?” Dania asked the werewolf who lay motionless, she tried to help her up, but she faded away.

Ilyra explained, her voice gentle but firm as she held the old woman’s hand. "The Nexus? You're both fools if you think you can just walk into the center of the marsh and take what you want, because the path is guarded by the Drowned Witches now," Hestia said, and she looked up at me with a grim, knowing smile that chilled me to the marrow.
