Damien concluded the meeting with lethal finality. "Just as you said, Mr. Jung, we are going to fish them all out and feed them to the dogs."

A visible tremor of fear and confusion rippled through the room. The air grew thick with frantic murmurs, yet no one dared to speak up directly until a senior board member, Man #3, finally broke.

"What do you mean by that?" he stammered, while the man beside him, Man #2, began to rant. "You can’t just sit here and spit out rubbish like you’ve been here since the beginning! We built this before you were even born!"

Damien let out a contemptuous sigh. "Hmph," he snorted, leaning back in his leather chair. "And who told you that I can't do it just because I’ve recently taken the helm? You are all old enough to pass your shares to your heirs. If you had any worth passing to, that is."

Man #3 hissed in disbelief. "Don’t be ridiculous!"

Damien’s voice dropped, cutting through the noise like a razor. "Oh! I forgot. You don’t have a responsible heir. You sold out your own children years ago in exchange for liquid capital to buy more shares, isn’t that right?"

The room turned on the targeted man instantly. Scornful whispers filled the space as the other members gossiped about the dark history he had with his own family.

Damien slammed his fist on the table, demanding silence. "No matter how many shares you hold, you will never get a grip on this empire. Get that into your fatty old brain. Either keep quiet or get out for good. In fact, if I discover you are one of the moles, I will personally feed you to a dog infected with rabies."

The threat was effective. The man paled, looking thoroughly ashamed, and sat down quickly. The room fell into a terrified hush.

"Mr. Jung—how long have you been a shareholder?" Damien asked suddenly.

"For about ten years, sir."

"Hmmm. Don't call me 'sir.' I’m a son to everyone here; no one is younger than me." He offered a fleeting, cold smile that looked more like a warning.

Sean cleared his throat to maintain the silence.

"This is my order," Damien continued. "I can’t guarantee anyone’s safety. Starting next week, there will be full forensic inspections." He paused, watching the murmurs begin again. "Don’t worry about the stocks. Nothing is permanent. This 'cleaning' will last as long as it takes. Consider it dusting the house before I truly move in."

Without another word, Damien stood. Everyone in the room rose and bowed as he walked out, his presence lingering long after the door closed.

AT THE DAMIEN MANSION

After the hectic day, Damien retired to his private mansion on the outskirts of the city. It was the only structure on a vast, rolling landscape, hidden from prying eyes. This wasn't the family estate; this was a sanctuary built to his specific, modern ideas. It was a place where only the worthy were invited. Not even his twin or his younger brother had free access to this house—only Sean, Mrs. Kate, and his elite bodyguards. Even Aiden had never seen this side of Damien’s life; this mansion was a monument to total privacy.

He headed toward the grand staircase. "I will prepare your dinner to be served by 8 PM, sir," Mrs. Kate said, bowing respectfully.

Damien could tell she was surprised to see him. Even Sean hadn't known he planned to stay here tonight. "Just tell her to make something simple, Sean," Damien called out over his shoulder. "I'm heading to the club tonight."

"Okay, sir," Sean replied, quickly catching up to Mrs. Kate in the kitchen.

"How was today?" she asked softly.

"Pressure everywhere," Sean sighed. "The police investigation into that shipping scandal led straight back to one of the subsidiary companies. He's been worried ever since."

"No more talking. The clock is ticking," Sean cut himself short, glancing at his watch. "He wants something light."

Mrs. Kate nodded. "I’ll get on it. Who would have wanted to collapse everything we’ve built for years? It was overlooked for too long."

Sean leaned against the counter. "Exactly. And you know how he is—once he senses a threat, he doesn't stop."

Mrs. Kate smiled. "Will you be staying for dinner too?"

"Are you off work now?" Mrs Kate teased.

"Yes, I am. Don’t you know? As soon as he arrives here, he stops giving me orders and only takes the guards when he goes to his personal spots," he explained.

"Oh, I see. Then go eat at your own house! Why should I cook for you?" Mrs. Kate joked, frowning playfully.

"Ahhh! Please, Mrs. Kate! I’m too lazy to cook tonight. Please!"

"Alright, alright—I’ve heard you," she laughed, beginning to prep the vegetables. As Sean started to walk away, she called him back. "Err—Sean? Have you... have you heard from Aiden?"

Justin had the uncomfortable feeling that someone was following him.At first, he tried to ignore it. University corridors were always crowded, and he told himself he was simply overthinking things. But the sensation didn't disappear. If anything, it grew stronger. He tightened his grip on his backpack and hurried toward the nearest restroom."Maybe I'm just paranoid," he muttered under his breath. The men's restroom was empty and unusually quiet. Justin let out a relieved sigh as he walked toward one of the cubicles."Finally.""Hello, handsome."Justin nearly jumped out of his skin.He turned around to find a familiar face leaning casually against the sink counter. It was the same girl from the university cafeteria. The one who had practically interrogated him about the Smith family. She smiled brightly."It's been a while."Justin stared at her in disbelief."Oh. You." He forced a polite smile. "Can we talk later? I really need to use the restroom.""No," she replied sharply, crossi

In Damien's Car"Sir, should we head straight to the mansion?" Sean asked as he glanced at Damien through the rearview mirror.Damien remained silent for a moment, staring out at the city lights rushing past the tinted windows."Have you confirmed it?" he asked finally."Not yet, sir. But we should have the final report by tomorrow morning," Sean replied.Damien tapped his fingers lightly against the armrest."I want to check on him."Sean nodded immediately."Very well, sir. We'll head to his apartment. According to our people, he didn't go to work today after his classes.""Hmm."The rest of the journey passed in silence.By the time they arrived near Aiden's apartment building, the sky had already darkened. Street lamps cast long shadows across the pavement, and the evening air carried the distant sounds of traffic and laughter from nearby restaurants.Damien's gaze shifted toward the entrance of the apartment complex. Then he saw them.Aiden and Justin were walking slowly toward t

  • When Two Worlds Collide    AUTHOR'S NOTE

Hello everyone! ❤️ I just wanted to drop a quick note and explain why Chapter 25 is taking longer than usual. Recently, I've been dealing with a bit of writer's block. I know the story has reached an important stage, and I don't want to rush out a chapter that doesn't meet the standard I want for Aiden, Damien, and the rest of the characters. To everyone who has been reading, thank you so much. Seeing the views continue to grow means a lot to me, even when the comment section is quiet. Sometimes it's hard to know what readers are thinking, but I truly appreciate every single person who takes the time to read this story. Chapter 25 is still coming. I just need a little time to get the flow right and make sure the next part of the story is worth the wait. In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment about your favorite character, your theories about Mike, Damien, Aiden, or what you think will happen next. I would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you all for your patience and supp

  • When Two Worlds Collide    CHAPTER 24 — The First Move

Inside Mike's car, the atmosphere was eerily calm. The luxury sedan glided through the streets of Monaco while the city lights reflected against the tinted windows. Mike sat comfortably in the back seat, one arm resting against the leather armrest, a faint smile lingering on his lips. His assistant glanced at him through the rearview mirror. "Do you really think Aiden is going to be the right bait, sir?" Mike's smile widened. "Obviously." He adjusted the cuff of his sleeve and stared out the window. "I just need the proper timing. A fish doesn't bite the hook the moment you throw it into the water." The assistant nodded. "And Damien?" Mike chuckled. "Damien is predictable. That's his weakness." "How so, sir?" "Because the moment Aiden is involved, he stops thinking like a business

The morning bell above the café door chimed softly, breaking the stillness as sunlight spilled across the polished wooden counters like liquid gold. Aiden moved behind the espresso machine with slow, tired motions. Steam hissed upward, curling in thin spirals, almost like it wanted to escape the same life he had only just managed to return to.“Boss, you’re early again,” one of the staff called from the kitchen, the sound of clinking cups following her voice. “I couldn’t sleep,” Aiden replied lightly, forcing a small smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Besides, this place runs better when I’m here.”From the side counter, Justin leaned casually against it, sipping a takeaway cup like he owned the morning. “You say that like you’re not the reason it runs at all,” he said.Aiden shot him a glance. “Flattery won’t get you free breakfast.” “It usually does.”That earn
