LOGINAYANNA
I gave him a curious look, but he just pretended not to see it and offered me his hand instead. I hesitated for only a second, taking his hand and letting him lead me wherever he wanted.
Minutes later, we stepped onto a rooftop.
A gasp escaped my lips, seeing the beautiful view of the city stretched beneath us. Thousand glittering lights sparkled against the darkness, and cars moved like streams of gold while the cold night breeze brushed against my skin.
The sight was breathtaking.
Slowly, my lips curved into a smile, my worries momentarily forgotten as I rushed over the railing to look down. I wasn't scared of heights; I loved it. It made me feel like I was flying.
"Do you want to gaze at the stars?" I whirled in Rain's direction, my gaze trailing towards the spot he was pointing at, and my smile brightened once I spotted a telescope. I dashed toward it, my heart racing with anticipation. The moment I peered through the telescope countless stars flooded my vision, scattering across the night sky.
"So beautiful," I mumbled, pulling him over so he could join in my amusement. But he looked through the telescope for barely a minute then turn to me.
"The stars are beautiful, but pales in comparison to you."
I laughed, pushing him away gently so I could peer at the stars again. "Did you say that to all the women you brought stargazing?" I teased without looking at him.
"I've never taken any other woman to see the stars, just you," he says, the sincerity in his tone making me turn to look at him.
I felt my heart beating heavily against my chest the moment our eyes met and I quickly looked away.
Though I may not love Rain, the attraction I felt for him was undeniable.
Stepping away from the telescope, I turned to him again, my eyes racking over his body, halting at the cut on his neck.
"What happened to you earlier? You left for a few minutes and came back disheveled and bruised?"
He was silent for a while, then slowly he closed the gap between us, whirled me over so that my back was pressed against his front. I felt his cold finger lightly graze my neck, and moment later, the cool weight of a gold necklace settled against my skin.
"It's just a small accident, nothing you should worry about," he said, yet for some reason I didn't believe him. Nevertheless, I didn't push for answers.
Silently, I pressed further into him, allowing him wrap his arms around my waist while his head rested over my shoulder.
"What do you wish for besides revenge?" He suddenly asked and I tilted my head to look at him in surprise. I'd not expected him to ask such a question after all, our relationship was built with the sole aim of revenge. Still I answered.
"There are so many things I wish for, first I want mother to be free and happy. To have everything she wants. I also want to be happy. I want to have a beautiful garden where I could watch the sunset and sunrise.
I wish to dance in the Rain, to have a pet. Perhaps a dog...
I trailed off looking into space, my heart clenching as I thought of what I wished for the most .
I wish could turn back time to the day I met Alexander Greyford then I'd do everything in my power to make sure our paths never cross.
ALEX
I've had this uneasy feeling ever since Ayanna came to the hospital. The way she acted and the remarks she made_ it was like she was indirectly accusing Kate and me of having an affair. Furthermore, she's been acting distant. Like last night, she came home, but then she said she had urgent business with Olivia and didn't return. One might say I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but then Ayanna has always wanted to be close to me. There's no way she'd leave my side, especially now that I just got out of the hospital, but it's like she doesn't even care.
I don't know why the thought of her no longer caring irked me so bad. It's not because I loved her, no. I just loved the affection she gave. I love having someone I could easily manipulate. A plaything. And the thought of no longer being in control of that plaything sent a flood of rage through me, especially after she managed to survive the accident. How the hell had she survived? Someone must have saved her, but who?
My thoughts were cut short by the sound of my phone. I picked it up and saw it was Kate calling. My scowl immediately changed to a smile as I pressed the answer button.
"Alex, have you seen the news circulating online? They're calling me a mistress, and I've even been removed as the leading model for the highway fashion event. They said they won't be working with me ever again. Not just them, several brands ended their contract with me following the news. Do something, Alex, or I'll be completely ruined," Kate cried out.
My smile fell immediately. I quickly looked for my tablet, and once I went online. Kate was trending. Several images of both me and me were leaked online, including a video of us hugging, kissing and doing other intimate stuff. But in all of them, my face was blurred. Which means whoever did this targeted Kate alone, but why? And who was behind this?
Was it Ayanna?
My gaze darkened at the thought. Yet I didn't want to jump to conclusion. Maybe someone else had done it. Nevertheless while I was still investigating this matter. I have to come up with a new ways to get rid of Ayanna.
I pondered over it for a while and settled on poisoning her slowly. However, I'll have to use a poison that would be undetectable so that if she died, it wouldn't be traced back to me.
At the thought I called Jeffrey the secret spy I hired recently to watch Ayanna however his number wasn't going through. That darn man he was supposed to keep me updated. I gave up after several tries instead putting a call to my personal assistant so he'd investigate Kate's case and also have the news as well as the videos and pictures deleted. Afterwards, I texted Ayanna that she had to be back home early my parents wanted to have lunch with us. I would begin my plan at my parents house.
ALEX Ayanna's chauffeur dropped her off in front of the Elite hotel. One of the many hotels belonging to the Blackwell's. I didn't want to jump to conclusion that she was meeting with Rain Blackwell just because she came to one of the Blackwell's hotel. It could be someone else, a friend, a client yet I couldn't shake the initial feeling off.Dressed in a backless red silk dress that clung to her body like a second skin, Ayanna drew the attention of all those who passed by as she gracefully walked into the hotel. My phone beeped just then and I looked the message that appeared on it, not mine but Ayanna's message to the anonymous person she was meeting."I'm already here, see you in a minute."Rage surged through me as I read the message, my grip tightening on the stirring wheel until my knuckles turned white. I desperately hoped my intuition was wrong, that Ayanna wasn't cheating on me. The mere thought ignited an unadulterated rage. That she was no longer useful to me didn't make i
ALEX What the f*ck. This place was creepy as hell. An abandoned warehouse at the outskirt of town. It was hidden in a maze of trees I wouldn't have found it if not for the use of GPS. Who the hell was this psychopath who knew about my affair with Kate and what did he want? Why make me come all the way to a place like this?I parked my car in front of the warehouse, heaving a sigh as I slowly stepped out. My legs trembled as I walked and adrenaline course through me at the thought of finally meeting whoever this person was. I'd come alone like the anonymous person instructed but I'd shared my location with Kate just in case.Distant howl echoed through the forest and I trembled in fear increasing my pace toward the warehouse. The door swung open with a shriek when I pushed it and I flinched, glancing around before I walked in. The places was empty, except for the table which sat at the middle of the room with a single lit candle which dimly illuminated the place. The anonymous person
RAINmy expression changed the moment I arrived at grandfather's mansion. Though the dinner was supposed to be by 8.pm I came by 9.pm. purposely delaying to avoid much of the family drama. Heaving a sigh, I walked into the house. Their loud voices welcomed me even before I got to the dining hall."That arrogant brat, he has absolutely no regard for us his elders. Everyone was here by eight except him. If he can't even respect us now, what happens when he finally wears the crown," that high pitched annoying voice belonged to Vivian Blackwell, my second aunt. She was maniputive. Always looking for ways to remove me as the heir of the Blackwell family and give it to her son even though he wasn't a Blackwell."You do make a good point Vivian_ once I wear the crown as the head of the Blackwell family, the first thing I'll do is strip off your right to the Blackwell name. You're married now, you should take your husband's name, stop clinging to the Blackwell name so desperately. Secondly I
"Mr.Blackwell, it is said in your file that you have an unhealthy obsession with a married woman."She looked up for the file with a curious expression and I shrugged."It's not an unhealthy obsession. It's more like an intense obsession and love for her. I desire to claim her for myself, to protect her even if it means killing the bastard she calls her husband. I'd say the urge to kill him grows each day. I sometimes find myself fantasizing over it," I smiled sadistically as I spoke. Suddenly this therapy session didn't seem so absurd I now had someone to share my sinister intentions with. She observed me for a while, an unreadable expression on her face."I'd like it if you address me as Margaret, going forward. she finally broke the silence. "How about you tell me more about this woman, when and how did you meet her?"I thought back to the time I met Ayanna. You probably thought it was the night she approached me at the club. However Ayanna and I met long before that, I was probab
After I left the room I returned to the guest room where Ayanna was, kissed her forehead and lips before leaving....As soon as I walked into my living room, I found Mason sitting on the couch, he slowly glanced up at me, disapproval written all over his face. I get him, it was almost 4 a.m and I was just coming back home after visiting a lover."I'll schedule you an appointment with a therapist to help with your unhealthy obsession," Was all he said before sauntering off to his quarters.Heaving a sigh, I threw myself into the nearest couch. Could my obsession really be cured? Perhaps I should give it a try. I pushed the thought aside as I pulled the spare phone I bought recently from my pocket. It had a chip installed in it to make every call and text untraceable.I smiled sinisterly as I typed a message pressing send before closing my eyes to sleep.Morning came in a flash, I groaned as I stood up, the aroma of food filling the air. I checked the time on my phone, it was 7.am. ju
I gently removed his hand from my shoulder, heaving a sigh as I turn to face him. "Not tonight Alex, I had a long day but go take a quick shower and come, I'll put you to sleep."Reluctantly, he left and I breath a sigh of relief as I resumed drying my hair. By the time he came out of the bathroom I was in my pajamas sitting on the bed. As much as I wanted to sleep before he came, I couldn't bring myself to, not when he was after my life.I helped him dry his hair and helped him into his pajamas like I always do, then I pulled him to bed with me, making him rest his head on my thigh then I slowly massaged his head while humming a soft melody. I always did this. To him I was showing him affection, that may have been the case yet right now I was simply putting my enemy to sleep so I could sleep also. Once I heard his snores, I patted him several times to be sure he'd truly fallen asleep, carefully removing his head from my lap before leaving the room with my pillow. My phone beeped as
Now this is something new and incredibly juicy. I studied Jeffrey's expression since I was good at reading people to see if he was lying but he seemed to be telling the truth. "If you're lying to me James... " It's Jerry boss," Flex corrected again and I swear to literal Jesus I was seconds away
AYANNA Slowly my eyes peeled open. The first thing that came into view was a white celling then beeping sound and smell of disinfectant and medicine which told me I was in a hospital. Why....The question seized as memories came flooding into my mind. My car brakes, I toppled over a Cliff. Yet I
AYANNA I returned home at noon to pick some clothes for Alex only to meet a bunch of flower bouquet in my living. "What is this Alice?" I asked the house keeper who'd come to greet me. Looking at the beautiful white lilies. They was my favorite flower. "Ma'am it was sent earlier by an anonymous
AYANNA It was 9 am in the morning and Alex hadn't returned home since last night. I sat in the living room absent minded when I received a call. "Ayanna, come to the hospital your husband was assaulted," I frowned hearing the familiar voice. It was Kate. From the sound of her voice, I could tell
