Mag-log inAlpha Ken spent years pouring his heart into his first love, Audrey, and her daughter while treating his true Luna, Kaida, like she was nothing. He ignored their innocent son, little Leo, and let the boy grow up believing his father’s coldness was his fault. Kaida endured it all in silence. She raised Leo alone, wiped his tears, and whispered lies to protect his heart: “Daddy doesn’t hate you.” But when Leo took his final breath without ever feeling his father’s love, something inside Kaida shattered forever. She walked away— No more begging but with so much pain. But after she left Alpha Ken discovered the awakening truth—The only people who ever loved him were the family he destroyed! Now he’s desperate to fix what he destroyed. But Kaida is gone… and she’s in the strong arms of another Alpha, one who sees her worth. Angry, desperate to take back what he claimed was his, he’ll beg, he’ll bleed, he’ll burn down anything in his path but would Kaida return to the love that once shattered her? Or stay with the new man who healed her?

“Luna, after a thorough test and research, it is concluded that what little Leo has isn’t just a cold or any heart disease but Wolf Heart Disease.” The room fell silent. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. I swallowed and reached for the result sheet. My fingers trembled as I took it from him, but the words blurred together. I could see the letters, yet I understood nothing, it all looked like jargon. After a while, I gave up reading it and raised my head, “W-Wolf Heart Disease? What do you mean? You said it was just a heart condition. You said it was treatable…” My voice broke, but I forced myself to look at the pack healer. He sighed. The sadness in his eyes said more than his words and my heart sank. “Luna, it is a heart disease. But it’s rare and dangerous. His wolf formed in his heart instead of his lower abdomen. It interferes with his breathing.” He hesitated, then shifted his gaze to the side. My body turned stiff before he even continued. I followed his gaze. Leo sat across the room, swinging his small legs as he waited patiently. His face was as pale as a sheet of paper due to the sickness. “My son..” I muttered silently, “He didn’t know.” My chest tightened. He didn’t know that something inside him was killing him. “All he ever wanted was a happy life,” my thoughts spiralled. “To sleep between his parents. To sit on his father’s shoulders.” Things so small but turn out to be impossible. Alpha Ken had never cared for him since I had birthed him. “At least… at least he deserves to be healthy,” I thought. “So why him?” I felt the crazy urge to scream, to yell at the universe, to question the moon goddess, but the moment I almost lost control of my sanity, little Leo who had been playing suddenly raised his head and gave me a beautiful smile. His smile seemed to stab something inside me. “There has to be a solution,” I said quickly, clinging to that thought. “His sixth birthday is next month. There must be something we can do. I can’t give up!” The healer’s silence stretched too long. “Luna… the young Alpha has only one month left to live. I researched deeply, but there is no cure for this. Unfortunately.” he sighs. One month..?! The words echoed. The paper slipped from my grasp, but I didn’t notice. My hands gripped the edge of the table until my knuckles whitened. One month. I stared at the ceiling with my wide eyes, willing myself not to fall apart. A sharp sting pulled me back. I looked down. Blood dripped from my fingers where my nails had cut into my skin. I hadn’t even felt it. The healer was speaking again, but his voice sounded distant. The world felt muted. I forced myself to stand, my knees weakened, but I steadied myself and stumbled toward Leo. “Mama, are you done? Can we go home now?” His bright smile nearly shattered me. I crouched in front of him. For a second, I just looked at him, like I hoped everything would turn out to be a dream. “Mama?” His beautiful voice turned uncertain. I couldn't help it anymore. My heart pounded and without waiting, I pulled him into my arms and held him tightly. “Mama, are you fine?” “Hmm,” I managed. “Did you get needles too? Like little Leo?” My throat closed. “It must have hurt,” he continued softly. “But the pain will stop. Just the way little Leo got used to the pain.” My body stiffened from the shocking words. And that was when the tears finally fell. Got used to the pain. My five-year-old had learned how to endure suffering. I held him closer. “Yes,” I whispered, my voice shaking. “Little Leo is Mama’s hero.” *** Leo has fallen asleep from exhaustion. I kissed his warm red cheek and watched him breathe. Earlier, he had waited by the window again — hoping his father would return. When he finally realised Alpha Ken wasn’t coming, he had only nodded quietly but I could still see the pain in those little eyes of his that were only meant to smile. That quiet disappointment hurt more than tears would have. I sucked in a large amount of air, then brushed my fingers through his hair and stepped out of the room. Standing by the window, I stared into the darkness before dialling a number I rarely called. It rang. And rang, just like always. On the final attempt, someone answered. “Hello.” Relief flickered in my chest and my eyes lit up with desperation. “Alpha Ken, I—” “Sorry, Luna. The Alpha is busy with the pack elders. Call later.” The light in my eyes died down the second I heard the familiar voice—The Beta. My grip tightened around the phone. I pursed my lips, and before I could insist, a familiar, sweet laughter echoed faintly from the background. I froze. My eyes widened in shock. I knew that laugh. Audrey. Even if I were dying, I would recognise it. So this was the “meeting.” My son was counting his days, and his father was with his first love. Her laughter made my tummy churn with disgust, and my hand that held the phone shook with so much anger that the phone almost slipped. “Meeting..? How funny.” I gritted, but even if I had the urge to puke from the disgust I felt, I held it down. Leo still needs me. “I don’t care who he is with,” I thought. “I will fulfil Leo’s wish.” Before the Beta could hang up, I spoke firmly. “Beta Joel, I can hear the laughter there and I know Ken is there. Tell him to speak to me now, or I’ll come to the pack office myself and I’ll make a big scene!” Silence followed. I could almost imagine his stunned expression. I had never challenged the Alpha before. I had always endured. Always stayed quiet even when pushed to the wall. Even when he accused me wrongly and hated me. But not this time as I won't allow this! I heard footsteps approaching and the next thing I knew, the phone shifted hands. “Kaida,” his familiar voice growled through the line, cold and dangerous, “Can you be any more shameless? How dare you threaten me? Are you that desperate to have me—” For the first time, his words didn’t hurt me. It didn't hit home at all and all I felt was hope—He finally picked up the call. “Can you come home?” I interrupted calmly. “Your son needs you. He doesn’t have much time left.” “What?!”Kaida Pov The laughter of my baby could be heard in the room. It sounded so sweet and cute that it could melt the strongest hearts. I sat on the couch, trying to rein in my laughter as I watched my husband, Kabir, struggle to change my daughter, Kehlani’s diaper. But no matter how he tried, the mischievous little girl either turned or tried to crawl away, making her father grit his teeth in annoyance. One moment, he’d look like he had had enough and was about to hit her, but the next second, he’d be laughing happily at her tactics. I shook my head as I looked at Kehlani’s chubby face and little butt. She really had her father wrapped around her little finger. “Little princess, just hold on. Can you just stay still and let me cover your little butt?!” Kabir’s roar echoed through the room again, followed by Kehlani’s toothy laughter. Then, as if he couldn’t take it anymore, Kabir raised his head and showed me a face covered in baby powder. He looked at me like he’d faint if I did
Ken PovI sat in the wheelchair as Americ pushed me, albeit reluctantly. Though I was in so much pain, my face remained blank as if I could feel nothing.Americ had taken a quiet road where we wouldn’t come across any pack members, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. I didn’t think I could bear the hatred on their faces now.My fingers clutched the papers tightly, yet they still continued to tremble. To be honest, I didn’t know why I was looking for Audrey. Maybe… I just needed a lie that could stop me from completely breaking down.“We’re here.”Americ’s voice jolted me out of my thoughts. I immediately looked up and saw the house I had given Audrey when I brought her back.I stared at the house in a daze. It was like I could still remember the excitement. The love and warmth I had felt when I saw the tears of happiness in Audrey’s eyes after hearing I had put the house in her name.My face trembled, but I refused to let the tears fall. I couldn’t cry anymore. I couldn’t.Fuck!
Ken PovIt’s been two days since I regained consciousness, but I remained in a daze. I stared at the ceiling blankly. My mind was clear. I could hear sounds and move, but somehow, everything around me felt unreal. It felt like I was surrounded by darkness, and my world had changed the moment I woke up. According to the healer, I had been unconscious for a week, which means a week had passed since the big war. A week had passed since I lost everything, including my left eye and right leg.The room felt strangely quiet. There were no guards greeting me, no elders waiting to ask for orders, and no warriors standing outside my door. For the first time, I truly felt alone. My body trembled as anguish filled my heart. The urge to burst into tears filled me, but I couldn’t even cry if I wanted to. I could only stare dumbly at the ceiling.Where had I gone wrong exactly? How did I lose to him when I had planned everything thoroughly? I had spent nights and days making plans, but everything fe
Kabir Pov A heartbreaking scene was playing out before me, yet not an ounce of emotion appeared on my face. One hand pressed against my blood-soaked shirt while my eyes rested indifferently on Old Man Alaska, who sat on the ground holding the body of the son I had just killed. Blood continued pouring from the wound in his throat. The old man desperately tried to stop it with both hands, but it was useless. Beside him stood Ken. He stared blankly at the scene before him. He must have been shocked as he had never expected their carefully planned attack to end like this. Although I was injured because I had chosen to take that wound instead of losing my life… looking at the result before me, it had been worth it. My jaw tightened after I finally managed to stop the blood flowing from my wound. I stood there with my blade still dripping with blood while my eyes glowed as red as the blood staining the ground. Just then, Ken finally came back to his senses. He glared at me with burni
Alpha Kabir Pov My brows locked immediately. Why would my mother be here? Hold on— My eyes sharpened dangerously. Darn it! Did something happen to the pack?! “Where is she?” I questioned coldly. “At the visiting room, Alpha.” I didn’t even let Jude finish speaking before I brushed past him an
Kaida PovI gaped at Kabir blankly, his words echoing in my ears, circling inside me again and again. He was right. I was Nat’s master. I was supposed to lead her and not the other way around. If I kept giving in to her weakness, then nothing would ever change. I would remain like this… weak, helpl
Kaida Pov In the room provided by the hospital. I sat with my back resting against the wall. My eyes stared blankly at the snow that continued to fall from the sky. I can’t even remember what day or time it is. I had just regained consciousness minutes ago and I wished I hadn’t woken up. Eve
Kaida Pov“Mama, do you think Papa would come home as he promised?”My hand paused on Leo’s head. For once, I couldn’t say the usual words. It had been days since the last argument. Tomorrow was the pack’s first snow festival… and Leo’s sixth birthday.Little Leo stared at me with so much hope.“Pa
