I knew this was a bad idea. Messing with Lightning and the Wild Ridge MC was a risk, but I needed their help, and I needed it badly. Making my way through the dock, I slipped past the night security guard, who was distracted by his phone. Once inside the shipping office, I quietly sat down in one of the chairs in front of their computer. The office was dimly lit, the only sounds being the distant hum of machinery and the occasional creak of the old building. I was a wiz when it came to computer stuff, so it didn’t take long for me to access their systems. When I found their secret stash disguised as pastry supplies, I rerouted the order, hiding it from them. I knew they would come looking, and hopefully, I’d run into him along the way. As I finished up, I heard footsteps approaching. My heart raced, and I quickly shut down the computer, trying to look casual. The door swung open, and a tall figure stepped in. It was Lightning, his eyes immediately locking onto mine. “What the hell are you doing here?” he growled, his voice low and dangerous. I stood up, trying to steady my nerves. “I need your help. He stepped closer, his expression hard. “And why the hell would I help you hmm someone who just tampered with our shipment?” I swallowed hard, knowing this was my only chance. “Because am in trouble, Nick” He narrowed his eyes at me. “And what does that have to do with me? And stop calling me Nick. It’s Lightning to you, Lily,” he stated firmly. I looked down, feeling the weight of his response. “Lightning, please,” I begged, my voice trembling. He sighed, a hint of frustration in his eyes. “Fine. But you will fix our shipment problem after we’re done talking. You got that?” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. I nodded, grateful for his grudging acceptance. “I got it.” “Good,” he replied, stepping back and motioning for me to follow. “Let’s talk somewhere more private.” I walked with him until we made our way to where the security guard was stationed. “Hey, wait! The security, we’ll be caught!” I stated, my voice tinged with panic. He grunted and kept walking. I strolled behind him and then noticed the security guard slumped over at the side of the gate. “Don’t worry, he’s just sleeping,” he stated. I nodded and continued to follow until I heard the revving of engines up ahead as the rest of his MC crew stood on standby. “Sir, what did you find out?” one of them asked. “Don’t worry about it. We’re heading back,” Lightning replied. “Prez, are you sure? What about the shipment?” Snake, one of the crew members, questioned. “Don’t worry about it,” he said gruffly as he hopped on his bike, helping me on as well. I held on tightly as the engine roared to life, and we sped off into the night. The wind whipped around us, but all I could think about was the danger I was dragging them into. After a while, we pulled into the Wild Ridge Clubhouse Lightning helped me off the bike, and we made our way inside. The atmosphere was tense, filled with the smoky haze of cigarettes and the low hum of conversation. He turned to me and said, “My office. You should remember where it is, or have you forgotten?” he stated, a hint of a challenge in his voice. I met his gaze and nodded, making my way through the familiar halls of the clubhouse. Memories flooded back as I passed by rooms filled with the same faces, the same smells, and the same sense of raw intensity. It had been years, but nothing had really changed. I pushed open the door to Lightning’s office and stepped inside. The room was just as I remembered: dark, cluttered, and filled with the scent of leather and tobacco. Lightning followed me in, closing the door behind him. He leaned against the desk, crossing his arms over his chest, and eyed me warily. “Alright, Lily,” he said. “Start talking. What kind of trouble are you in?”~Nick~“Well, that was a shit show,” I rasped out.I had been busy in my office when I heard a bunch of commotion downstairs. Just as I rounded the corner, I saw lone police officers barging into the club. After that, I saw red as I made my way downstairs to intervene. I knew Lily would make herself scarce the moment she heard the police identify themselves. She knew they were after her and would do anything to get her, even planting false evidence to detain her.I stormed down the stairs, my anger rising with each step. The officers were spreading out, their hands resting near their holsters, their voices echoing through the club.“We’re looking for Lily Johnson,” one of them announced loudly. “If anyone knows where she is, it would be in your best interest to tell us now.”I pushed through the crowd of confused and angry club members to confront the officer who seemed to be in charge.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I demanded, my voice booming over the murmurs of the cro
~lily~As I walked down the stairs, I could feel eyes on me. I looked around, noticing the girls all staring at me, one in particular giving me a nasty glare. I smiled back and continued walking until I heard a small feminine voice behind me. “Your name’s Lily, right?” I turned around and came face to face with a tall, slim female with golden hair and hazel eyes. I smiled. “Yes, I am.” “My name is Jen. You probably don’t know me since I came after you left, but I’ve heard all about you from the other girls.” I looked over her shoulder as the other girls watched our interaction. “Probably bad news, I bet.” “Oh no,” Jen said quickly. “Well, besides Priscilla. She’s infatuated with the prez,” she added, rolling her eyes. I chuckled softly. “Figures. There’s always one in every group.” Jen smiled sympathetically. “Yeah, well, she thinks she owns the place. Just ignore her. The rest of us are actually pretty nice.” I nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. “Thanks, Jen. It’
~nick~ The next day, Lily, Ironhead, Snake, and Death were all in my office. “Okay, listen up,” I began. “It seems that a company named Vehement is trying to sabotage or bring down motorcycle clubs in the area, and they have set their sights on us. Lily here has come to us with information on their moves and also for her protection. It seems the boss of this operation has caught wind of Lily snooping into their files and is trying to either frame her or kill her. So, here’s the plan.” Everyone in the room leaned in concerned about the situation. “We’re going to hit them first,” I said firmly. “We need to gather more intel and find out just how deep this goes. Ironhead, you and Snake will be our eyes on the ground. I want you to stake out Vehement’s main office. Find out who’s coming and going, and see if you can get any leads on their next move.” Ironhead nodded. “Got it, Prez. “Hey, wait,” Snake interjected. “I thought I was on babysitting duties—I mean, security detail, protec
~lily~ I looked at him, expecting him to say something else, but he didn’t. He just nodded and was about to exit. “Wait,” I shouted. He turned back. “Can we talk?” I whispered. He hesitated for a moment, then nodded and turned towards me. I took a deep breath in and let it out. “I didn’t want to leave you. I just wanted to find myself. I mean, all my life, all I have ever known was the motorcycle life. I just wanted to figure out who I was and what I was meant to do. I know I didn’t do it the right way, and I apologize for that. Please, can you forgive me?” I asked, my eyes searching his. He stood there for a moment, his eyes locked on mine. The silence between us felt heavy, loaded with the weight of the past. “I… I get it,” he finally said, his voice softer than I expected. “You needed to find yourself. I just wish you’d told me. We could have figured it out together.” I swallowed hard, tears stinging my eyes. “I was scared, Nick. Scared that I wouldn’t be enough, that this
~nick~ I don’t know what I’m doing. Seeing Lily again brought back memories I thought I had buried and burned. The day I came back to the club after a run, I was so excited to see her. So when they told me she left, I didn’t believe them. Not until I came to her room and noticed that all of her stuff was gone. She didn’t leave a note or anything; she just up and left. Fuck. But who would have thought it was her rerouting our shipments? I knew she was always tech-savvy, but to break into the shipping dock just to get our attention was beyond crazy. Now, here she was, asking me for help. I walked down the hall, heading to the bar to try to clear my head, when I heard her voice. She was talking to Ironhead. Those two always used to be close when she was at the club. I think I broke Ironhead’s nose once when I thought he was fucking her. I stopped outside the doorway, listening. “I know I messed up, Ironhead,” she was saying. “But I’m here now, and I want to fix things.” Ironhead’s
~lily~ I watched him head out, probably going to tell the rest of the guys. I made my way out of his office, Snake following behind. I couldn’t help but look around. The place seemed the same, but it wasn’t. It seemed Nick decided to high-tech the place as I looked at the security cameras around the room. “So, how do you know the prez?” Snake stated, his rough voice startling me. “Umm,” I blushed, “we used to see each other when I was around the club.” I glanced back at Snake and watched as he looked at me curiously. “Sooo, you and the prez used to fuck?” he said bluntly. I rolled my eyes at his crude words. I guess some things never change. “Yes, we used to fuck.” “So you were a club whore and decided to bail out of the business?” he stated. I turned around, irritated at his words. “Look, yes, I was a club whore. Yes, I slept around, but don’t ever think that I ran out. I was looking to better myself, to find out who I really was,” I stated as I spun around and marched off, l
