As I walked down the stairs, I could feel eyes on me. I looked around, noticing the girls all staring at me, one in particular giving me a nasty glare. I smiled back and continued walking until I heard a small feminine voice behind me. “Your name’s Lily, right?” I turned around and came face to face with a tall, slim female with golden hair and hazel eyes. I smiled. “Yes, I am.” “My name is Jen. You probably don’t know me since I came after you left, but I’ve heard all about you from the other girls.” I looked over her shoulder as the other girls watched our interaction. “Probably bad news, I bet.” “Oh no,” Jen said quickly. “Well, besides Priscilla. She’s infatuated with the prez,” she added, rolling her eyes. I chuckled softly. “Figures. There’s always one in every group.” Jen smiled sympathetically. “Yeah, well, she thinks she owns the place. Just ignore her. The rest of us are actually pretty nice.” I nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. “Thanks, Jen. It’s good to know not everyone is out for blood.” She laughed. “We’re not all like Priscilla. Anyway, if you need anything, just let me know. I’m usually around.” “Will do,” I replied, giving her a grateful smile. As Jen walked away, I felt a little lighter. Maybe things wouldn’t be so bad if I stayed here after all. I continued down the stairs and headed toward the bar, hoping to get a drink and clear my head. Snake was leaning against the bar, chatting with one of the other guys. He glanced up as I approached and gave me a nod. “Hey, Lily. Need a drink?” I smiled. “Yeah, that would be great.” He motioned to the bartender, who quickly poured me a whiskey. I took the glass and sipped it, feeling the warmth spread through me. “Feeling better?” Snake asked. I nodded. “Yeah. Just as I was about to take another sip, there was a big commotion. “Everyone, hands in the air!” someone shouted from out front. My eyes grew wide when I realized the police were here. “Nobody moves!” another officer shouted. “What the fuck is happening?” Nick started to say. I stood behind the counter, listening to the commotion out front. We were out of sight from the police, but we could hear everything that was happening. “We have a search warrant! We’re here looking for a Lily Johnson. Maybe you guys know her since she used to hang around here before,” an officer stated. Nick grunted at his words. “We haven’t seen Lily in years, officer, so you’re barking up the wrong tree.” I quickly decided to hide, not wanting them to find me in case they chose to search the place. I glanced around, spotting a small storage room behind the bar. I ducked down and slipped inside, closing the door quietly behind me. I could hear the officers moving through the clubhouse, their heavy boots thudding on the wooden floors. I held my breath, praying they wouldn’t come my way. The storage room was cramped and dark, but it was better than being found. The noise outside continued, voices raised in frustration and anger. I could hear Nick arguing with the officers, his voice growing louder as he tried to keep them from searching too thoroughly. “Look, I told you, she’s not here!” Nick shouted. “You’re wasting your time!” “We have to be thorough,” one of the officers replied. “We have reason to believe she might be hiding out here.” “Reason? What reason?” Nick retorted. “This is bullshit!” I pressed myself against the wall, heart pounding. I could hear footsteps getting closer, and I held my breath, hoping they wouldn’t check the storage room. The doorknob rattled, and I froze, waiting for the door to swing open. But then, the footsteps retreated, and I let out a shaky breath. I listened as the officers continued their search, moving through the clubhouse. After what felt like an eternity, the commotion started to die down. and I could hear Nick’s voice, still gruff and irritated, as he spoke to them. “If she shows up, we’ll let you know,” Nick said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. Finally, the front door closed, and the clubhouse was silent. I waited a few more minutes before cautiously opening the storage room door. Snake was standing nearby, keeping watch. “Coast is clear,” he said quietly, helping me out of the cramped space. I nodded, my legs shaking as I stood. “Thanks, Snake.” Nick walked back in, his expression hard. “They’re gone for now, but you need to be careful Lily no leaving the clubhouse.~Nick~“Well, that was a shit show,” I rasped out.I had been busy in my office when I heard a bunch of commotion downstairs. Just as I rounded the corner, I saw lone police officers barging into the club. After that, I saw red as I made my way downstairs to intervene. I knew Lily would make herself scarce the moment she heard the police identify themselves. She knew they were after her and would do anything to get her, even planting false evidence to detain her.I stormed down the stairs, my anger rising with each step. The officers were spreading out, their hands resting near their holsters, their voices echoing through the club.“We’re looking for Lily Johnson,” one of them announced loudly. “If anyone knows where she is, it would be in your best interest to tell us now.”I pushed through the crowd of confused and angry club members to confront the officer who seemed to be in charge.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I demanded, my voice booming over the murmurs of the cro

~nick~ The next day, Lily, Ironhead, Snake, and Death were all in my office. “Okay, listen up,” I began. “It seems that a company named Vehement is trying to sabotage or bring down motorcycle clubs in the area, and they have set their sights on us. Lily here has come to us with information on their moves and also for her protection. It seems the boss of this operation has caught wind of Lily snooping into their files and is trying to either frame her or kill her. So, here’s the plan.” Everyone in the room leaned in concerned about the situation. “We’re going to hit them first,” I said firmly. “We need to gather more intel and find out just how deep this goes. Ironhead, you and Snake will be our eyes on the ground. I want you to stake out Vehement’s main office. Find out who’s coming and going, and see if you can get any leads on their next move.” Ironhead nodded. “Got it, Prez. “Hey, wait,” Snake interjected. “I thought I was on babysitting duties—I mean, security detail, protec
~lily~ I looked at him, expecting him to say something else, but he didn’t. He just nodded and was about to exit. “Wait,” I shouted. He turned back. “Can we talk?” I whispered. He hesitated for a moment, then nodded and turned towards me. I took a deep breath in and let it out. “I didn’t want to leave you. I just wanted to find myself. I mean, all my life, all I have ever known was the motorcycle life. I just wanted to figure out who I was and what I was meant to do. I know I didn’t do it the right way, and I apologize for that. Please, can you forgive me?” I asked, my eyes searching his. He stood there for a moment, his eyes locked on mine. The silence between us felt heavy, loaded with the weight of the past. “I… I get it,” he finally said, his voice softer than I expected. “You needed to find yourself. I just wish you’d told me. We could have figured it out together.” I swallowed hard, tears stinging my eyes. “I was scared, Nick. Scared that I wouldn’t be enough, that this
~nick~ I don’t know what I’m doing. Seeing Lily again brought back memories I thought I had buried and burned. The day I came back to the club after a run, I was so excited to see her. So when they told me she left, I didn’t believe them. Not until I came to her room and noticed that all of her stuff was gone. She didn’t leave a note or anything; she just up and left. Fuck. But who would have thought it was her rerouting our shipments? I knew she was always tech-savvy, but to break into the shipping dock just to get our attention was beyond crazy. Now, here she was, asking me for help. I walked down the hall, heading to the bar to try to clear my head, when I heard her voice. She was talking to Ironhead. Those two always used to be close when she was at the club. I think I broke Ironhead’s nose once when I thought he was fucking her. I stopped outside the doorway, listening. “I know I messed up, Ironhead,” she was saying. “But I’m here now, and I want to fix things.” Ironhead’s
~lily~ I watched him head out, probably going to tell the rest of the guys. I made my way out of his office, Snake following behind. I couldn’t help but look around. The place seemed the same, but it wasn’t. It seemed Nick decided to high-tech the place as I looked at the security cameras around the room. “So, how do you know the prez?” Snake stated, his rough voice startling me. “Umm,” I blushed, “we used to see each other when I was around the club.” I glanced back at Snake and watched as he looked at me curiously. “Sooo, you and the prez used to fuck?” he said bluntly. I rolled my eyes at his crude words. I guess some things never change. “Yes, we used to fuck.” “So you were a club whore and decided to bail out of the business?” he stated. I turned around, irritated at his words. “Look, yes, I was a club whore. Yes, I slept around, but don’t ever think that I ran out. I was looking to better myself, to find out who I really was,” I stated as I spun around and marched off, l
