The name’s Nick Gracen, but most call me Lightning. I’m the local prez of the Wild Ridge MC Club. It’s a title that carries weight, respect, and a hell of a lot of responsibility. I looked around the clubhouse, a place that had seen more action than most could handle. The air was thick with the scent of oil, leather, and a hint of whiskey—a comforting blend that felt like home. The brothers were scattered around, some tinkering with their bikes, others deep in conversation about our latest shipment. “Prez,” a voice called out, breaking my thoughts. I turned to see Ironhead approaching, a serious look on his face. “We’ve got a situation.” “What’s up?” I asked, already on high alert. “It’s about the shipment. Looks like someone’s been poking their nose where it doesn’t belong.” I clenched my jaw. “Who?” “Don’t know yet, but I’ve got a lead. Thought you’d want to know.” “Damn right, I do,” I said, my mind already racing. “Get the boys together. We need to handle this.” As Ironhead nodded and went to gather the others, I took a deep breath, ready to dive back into the chaos. This life wasn’t for the faint of heart, but it was the only one I knew. And I’d be damned if anyone thought they could mess with the Wild Ridge MC and get away with it. The men all gathered in our usual meeting spot in the club, the atmosphere tense with anticipation. Ironhead stood at the front, a map of our territory laid out on the table. “So, Ironhead, give me the rundown on what’s going down with the shipments. We need those weapons, and we need them before the cops come snooping around,” I stated, my voice firm. Ironhead nodded, pointing to a location on the map. “Alright, here’s what we know. The shipment was supposed to come through the docks last night, but our contact says it got held up by some unknown person. They’ve got the shipment stashed somewhere here,” he said, tapping a spot on the map just outside our territory. “Who the hell is this unknown player?” Cutter, one of our enforcers, asked, his brow furrowed. “We’re not sure yet,” Ironhead admitted. “But they’re not local. Could be a new gang trying to muscle in, or could be Feds running an undercover op. Either way, we need to get our hands on those weapons.” “Shit,” I muttered under my breath. “Alright, we need a plan. Cutter, you and Snake take a couple of the guys and scout the area. Find out who these players are and what kind of firepower they’re packing. Ironhead, you keep digging for intel. I want to know who we’re dealing with and why they’re targeting our shipment.” The men nodded, as they gathered their things. And remember,” I added, “we can’t afford to draw any unwanted attention. Keep it quiet, keep it clean. We get those weapons back without starting something we cannot handle. As the men began to disperse to carry out their orders, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Vick standing there, concern etched on her face. “Be careful,” she said softly. “I don’t want anything to happen to you.” I gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, Vick. This is nothing we can not handle”. She nodded, but the worry in her eyes didn’t fade. As I watched her walk away, I steeled myself for what was to come. “Death!” I shouted. I watched as my most deadly enforcer came marching over. His presence was intimidating, a living weapon ready to strike at a moment’s notice. “What is it, prez?” he stated, his voice a low growl. “I need you to watch over the clubhouse while I’m gone,” I instructed. “Anyone suspicious, you detain them as best as possible. Other than that, if anyone comes in guns blazing, you show them no mercy.” Death nodded, “Got it. No one’s getting past me.” “Good,” I said, clapping him on the shoulder. “I’m counting on you.”~Nick~“Well, that was a shit show,” I rasped out.I had been busy in my office when I heard a bunch of commotion downstairs. Just as I rounded the corner, I saw lone police officers barging into the club. After that, I saw red as I made my way downstairs to intervene. I knew Lily would make herself scarce the moment she heard the police identify themselves. She knew they were after her and would do anything to get her, even planting false evidence to detain her.I stormed down the stairs, my anger rising with each step. The officers were spreading out, their hands resting near their holsters, their voices echoing through the club.“We’re looking for Lily Johnson,” one of them announced loudly. “If anyone knows where she is, it would be in your best interest to tell us now.”I pushed through the crowd of confused and angry club members to confront the officer who seemed to be in charge.“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I demanded, my voice booming over the murmurs of the cro
~lily~As I walked down the stairs, I could feel eyes on me. I looked around, noticing the girls all staring at me, one in particular giving me a nasty glare. I smiled back and continued walking until I heard a small feminine voice behind me. “Your name’s Lily, right?” I turned around and came face to face with a tall, slim female with golden hair and hazel eyes. I smiled. “Yes, I am.” “My name is Jen. You probably don’t know me since I came after you left, but I’ve heard all about you from the other girls.” I looked over her shoulder as the other girls watched our interaction. “Probably bad news, I bet.” “Oh no,” Jen said quickly. “Well, besides Priscilla. She’s infatuated with the prez,” she added, rolling her eyes. I chuckled softly. “Figures. There’s always one in every group.” Jen smiled sympathetically. “Yeah, well, she thinks she owns the place. Just ignore her. The rest of us are actually pretty nice.” I nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. “Thanks, Jen. It’
~nick~ The next day, Lily, Ironhead, Snake, and Death were all in my office. “Okay, listen up,” I began. “It seems that a company named Vehement is trying to sabotage or bring down motorcycle clubs in the area, and they have set their sights on us. Lily here has come to us with information on their moves and also for her protection. It seems the boss of this operation has caught wind of Lily snooping into their files and is trying to either frame her or kill her. So, here’s the plan.” Everyone in the room leaned in concerned about the situation. “We’re going to hit them first,” I said firmly. “We need to gather more intel and find out just how deep this goes. Ironhead, you and Snake will be our eyes on the ground. I want you to stake out Vehement’s main office. Find out who’s coming and going, and see if you can get any leads on their next move.” Ironhead nodded. “Got it, Prez. “Hey, wait,” Snake interjected. “I thought I was on babysitting duties—I mean, security detail, protec
~lily~ I looked at him, expecting him to say something else, but he didn’t. He just nodded and was about to exit. “Wait,” I shouted. He turned back. “Can we talk?” I whispered. He hesitated for a moment, then nodded and turned towards me. I took a deep breath in and let it out. “I didn’t want to leave you. I just wanted to find myself. I mean, all my life, all I have ever known was the motorcycle life. I just wanted to figure out who I was and what I was meant to do. I know I didn’t do it the right way, and I apologize for that. Please, can you forgive me?” I asked, my eyes searching his. He stood there for a moment, his eyes locked on mine. The silence between us felt heavy, loaded with the weight of the past. “I… I get it,” he finally said, his voice softer than I expected. “You needed to find yourself. I just wish you’d told me. We could have figured it out together.” I swallowed hard, tears stinging my eyes. “I was scared, Nick. Scared that I wouldn’t be enough, that this
