Bonnie smoothed out my diary calmly and continued reading. My mark answered with another heartbeat. A second light glowed farther east. Smaller. Steady. Emily. I smiled despite myself. She was alive. Then... Far across the continent... Another light suddenly ignited. Not gradually. Instantly. Bright enough to illuminate half the map before settling into a steady pulse. Someone else. Another marked soul. My whisper escaped before I realized I'd spoken. "There are more..." As I stepped closer... One final light flickered. Dim. Unstable. Almost... Dark. Before I could study it further...

As he moved into the apartment, I jiggled one of my silver-lined night lights, frustrated when it flickered unpredictably. "Problem with the lights?" Nathan asked, noticing my efforts. "They keep flickering," I explained. "They're supposed to repel hostile wolves, but they're not working properly." Nathan set down the berries and approached. "Mind if I take a look? I installed similar systems in the Sterling pack guest quarters." "Be my guest," I said, stepping aside. He rolled up his sleeves and knelt to examine the light fixture. "The silver wiring is corroded. You need to replace this section."

Alas, no matter how gently I tried, the doll was beyond repair. It was not until the next day, when Rebecca walked by my room, that I started to snap out of it. I picked myself up off the floor. I had someone clear out the room. Silently, I moved to the desk, my eyes landing on the dusty family portrait. There they were, Rebecca and Nash. Her smile was so bright that it hurt to look at. Outside, the sky was a menacing shade of gray. I set the photo on fire with a lighter, and I watched in silence as it turned to ash.

"You saw, yes?" I nod, walking closer to the men. "Would you like to try?" I flick my eyes up to him quickly then, laughing a little. "I'm serious." He certainly looks it. I squat down in front of the balancing men without answering him, looking at the streams of light connecting their fingers to the earth below them. This man's light was green colored, this one was light blue.

But I ignored that. I drank tea because my throat felt dry. I felt the warm liquid flow down my throat to my stomach. I placed the cup on the table and spoke. "Regarding that, I want you to make a light bulb that has its color. A light bulb that won't break if there is snow and can be used outside. The colors of the light bulb are red, yellow, blue, and green. Each light bulb is only one color. It will give color and light to the place especially when it's just black and white." I explained to him in a simple way that he could understand.

Light concerns. I nodded my head in understatement but I was shivering in pain. The pain in my heart is excrutiating out but I was keeping it back. Not showing anyone how weak i am from the inside. “Are you okay? You haven't replied.” Light asks worriedly. “I am sorry, I was distracted. What were you saying?” I apologize. “I think we should try this once you clarify your doubts. I hope it will work with you?” Light suggests.
