But as she did, her eyes caught a flickering light—faint, but steady. Her heart skipped a beat. There was a light bulb hanging from the ceiling, covered in grime. With a shaky hand, she reached up and twisted the switch. The light flickered to life, casting a faint, yellowish glow over the room. The light was weak, barely enough to illuminate the dusty air, but it gave her a sense of hope.

I did not trust these assholes not to come back and try shit. Two days, that is how long it has been since I have been here. I heard one of the other girls say that we should have been moved yesterday, but something was stopping them. I had heard some howling these last two nights. I have a strong feeling that what is stopping them is the pack. I bet they know she is missing and are out in full force searching for her. I was starting to lose focus. I was not eating for obvious reasons, and it was so damn cold here. Angels do not do that great in the cold. Yes, I know the state I live in is cold, but I have the choice of getting out of it. A warm white light appears on my hands. What is this?

Today was the day I would finally regain my sight. Dr. Thomas walked in. “Don’t be nervous. We are going to take off the gauze now. The light might be a little piercing at first, so don’t rush. Just open your eyes slowly.” I nodded anxiously. A minute later, Dr. Thomas said, “Open them slowly.”

The light started fading, turning weaker and weaker. I couldn’t resist looking towards the spot where it had just shone so brightly it almost made me blind. But instead of the light, there was a shadow, a presence. A man. He was tall, so unbearably tall. Falling over his broad shoulders was a beautiful, thick, orange hair. Even in the darkness, the different shades made it look vibrant, like light was actually shining from it. He was wearing a white tunic, which stretched across his broad shoulders and protruding pecs, before it fell loosely around his middle, being tucked into his brown leather pants.

A future no longer bound by darkness, but written entirely in light.

I said in a long litany while holding the debatable series light I had bought earlier. I immediately turned it on and circled it around its tombstone. I also reached for my guitar and immediately took it out of the box and immediately started playing its tune. “We were supposed to be singing inside of our dim light small house. We are happy and goofing together with our small house with just us two,” strumming while saying those words makes my heart missed him more. The whole place started to get darker and my series light was the only light I had and his gravestone.
