"You still have time to play your cards right," Greed had told her two weeks earlier with a firmness that sounded more like an order as he placed the contract in front of her. Lizzy held Greed's shrewd gaze and breathed deeply, looking worried. "It's a tempting offer, sir, I admit. But I also know that in your world, things can turn dangerous quickly. That's why I need assurances that I'll be safe and won't be dragged into bigger problems in the future," Lizzy replied with suspicion. "If I can have that, then maybe we can have a deal."

“I want your promise though. If I find your mate, then you must swear an oath to me that you'll never hurt anyone I care about ever again. Do we have a deal?” Lizzie looks at me in the most skeptical way. I know she doesn't think that I can find her mate. Butif I can, it may be the only way that I can ever truly be free. I feel so stupid, Aidan.” Autumn tried her very best not to breakdown. She calmed her aching heart before continuing, “'Didn't you promise me before that you would tell me right away if you found another? But you broke your promise.” Her voice cracked and her tears were threatening to fall, but she restrained herself from doing so. She shouldn’t cry in front of him again. He isn’t worthy of her tears. "I don't want to let you go, Autumn." She arched an eyebrow at him.
