She hadn’t signed the Death Contract because Brayden backed her into a corner. She hadn’t signed it because he had threatened her job or her way of getting by simply through blacklisting her access to jobs that would pay her bills. She hadn’t been getting by in years. ' I get a lot of pop-up sites for games, movies, and shows that feature a banshee, but what catches my attention is the definition. According to G****e, a banshee (in Irish legend) is a female spirit who warns of an impending death in a house. “What?” I ask aloud, as I read that. I look up at her and in a near shout “death?” “I can't-” “Your screams mean that someone is going to die?” I ask her. “Someone in this house?” “It is far worse than that.” She says. I move over to her and sit down on the bed beside her. She sniffs the air and her eyes widen, but she says nothing because that is the very least of our worries.

Lucien had accidentally killed a Banshee while trying to protect himself before I happened to arrive. Killing a Banshee shall lure impetuous bad luck. The kind of bad luck which is worse than death and extending for a longer period of time than the time a werewolf lives on earth. The bad luck maybe carried over even to the after life, that is.
