Chapter Twenty-One The massive bonfire in the center of the clearing had grown into a huge, roaring blaze of bright orange fire by the time the dark night fully settled over the deep woods of the campground. The sound of loud laughter, rough rock music, and the constant clink of glass beer bottles filled the cool night air as the patched brothers of the Iron Reapers and a few of their allied motorcycle clubs celebrated the successful end of the very first day of the annual run.

Just then, I heard a faint rustling outside. I stepped out at once to check. There, by the wall, a guy was trying to climb over, clearly intending to slip out. I raised my flashlight and shone it on him, calling out sharply, "Hey, what do you think you're doing? Campus rules state that no one is allowed to leave at night!" The guy turned around, startled, and in the beam of light, I finally saw his face. It was the same dude I had just run into in the grove. What was he doing, trying to sneak out at this hour?

NARRATIVE POV Beast and CC broke through the dense treeline, opening into a hidden base camp. There was a calm stream, and the air was thick with smoke, sweat, and a sense of camaraderie that she hadn’t expected with a rogue pack. She liked it. Even in the middle of battles, there was a sense of ease. A sign of a strong and competent leader. It curled CC’s lip as she witnessed the opposite within her old one.

One Friday in late March I came home from work to find Colleen and the girls loading sleeping bags and duffel bags into the trunk of Colleen's car. "What's going on? Is someone running away from home?" "No Uncle Bobby, we're going to our Gymboree. Come with Mommy to take us, please, please, please." The girls had been talking about this for weeks. The Camp Fire Girls had a weekend campout that was going to take place in the gym of the local high school. The campout would last from Friday evening until 10 AM Sunday morning. I couldn’t see it yet but I could tell that we were almost to the camp, I could tell by the scents of a campfire and my family. A few minutes later we come up to a clearing and my eyes widen when I peak over his shoulder. What Scar said was a small campground, looked more like a small village. At least 30 tents of various sizes and shapes littered the clearing, a giant firepit roaring in the center. Guards patrolled the borders, some in wolf form and others still in their human ones. Eyes widening in surprise when they saw me, bowing their heads to us as we passed. It was still early enough that most pack members were in their tents, but just in case, Scar shadow steps into our tent to avoid

Maybe this won't be so bad. "Yeah. Yeah. It, it uh, should be fun. I'm Anderson but everyone calls me Ander. What's yours?" "I'm Jesse. Nice to meet you Ander." He smiles and now I'm smiling. "Well, I see you're alone. Do you want to meet my friends?" "I don't see why not." We walk into more of the camp. The cabins are actual wooden cabins. There's a little outdoor sit out which is probably where we'll have lunch. There are games and even a boxing ring.

They’re weird. It takes about two hours to get out to the campground, the same one we went to after I was attacked by my stalker so many months ago. I’m glad to see it again, though it’s less pleasant now in the winter air. I eye the uninsulated cabins suspiciously. Were we going to be warm enough? The Beta forces are already on the move, using flame throwers – of all ridiculous things – to clear out the snow from around the fire pit, off the cabin porches.

“You’re just… dropping them off in the woods with strangers?” She narrowed her eyes at me. “They’re trained professionals. You’re sounding paranoid.” “I’m sounding reasonable,” I muttered. “What if something happens? What if–?” “Nathan,” she interrupted with a laugh, “they’ll be fine. It’s a well-organized camp. They’ve got contact numbers, a nurse on site, even allergy-friendly snacks. You don’t have to go full Alpha-Wolf-Dad on me.” She whispered the last bit. I opened my mouth to say something else but stopped.

* * The next morning,the Sky Squared compound became so crowded, with people walking to and fro, getting ready for camp which was taken place in a City name Blaze. It was actually a place created by the past leaders. And it has been chosen for the camp location. * Tanya woke up with a start and sat up in bed, looking around the beautiful familiar room. Where was she? She tried to remember she when she finally did,she quickly got down from the bed. "It's camp today! I have to get ready!" She rasped, looking for her slippers on the ground. "You don't have to return to your room. Get dress from here." Craig said, coming out of his private room.
