Right now, his instincts were telling him one thing, "Retreat!" He gave the order of conviction, and everyone complied without question. Not even Lisa or Melody who had a higher rank than him stopped to ask why. The entire Falling Stardust army within a second turned into energy particles and disappeared from the battlefield. This change of events shocked the Vega armies. Some guys cheered, feeling that they had won the battle and others were just confused. A few had a bad feeling, the fact that they had lost thousands and the other side suffered no losses yet chose to retreat out of the blue rubbed them the wrong way.

Those simple sentences kept echoing in Emmett's mind. All at once, it felt like he had been cursed. Those words echoed in his mind so much that a sharp pain spread across his forehead. The immense pain left him devoid of any strength. With a loud thud, his phone fell and slammed onto the table. Unfortunately, Emmett had tied the candlesticks with thin threads to ensure an even distance between each. One candlestick fell, pulling on the threads and causing the others to fall over, too. Hot flames spread onto the dead leaves and feathers on the ground. It then traveled toward the wooden dominoes.

Viviane smacked my arm, but I ignored her, because Jesus Christ, was this what we were doing now? Felicity’s eyes widened like she couldn’t believe he just said that, her lips parting in shock. But then, slowly, she blinked, collected herself, and said, “Astronomically speaking, stars don’t fall. They collapse due to gravitational instability.” Brandon choked on his drink. Viviane pressed her fingers against her lips, trying not to laugh. And Gabrielle? That little shit just grinned like she’d recited a love poem. “Damn,” he said, looking impressed. “Beauty and brains. You trying to kill me, angel?”

Perhaps I already knew that my parents wouldn't be returning anytime. Is it the end of the world? I have no idea. To get them back, I would sacrifice everything. With a loud growl the phantom of the wolf charged towards the moon and swallowed it whole! *BOOM* Once the moon was swallowed the stars began to quake, and the space began to collapse. Kylie felt her head split open as a strong pain struck her head. She felt as though someone was hammering information into her head, information that was vital, yes, but painful to incorporate. As the space fell apart, the stars fled, leaving only the Sovereign Stars and the Chosen Stars behind. Those seven celestial bodies flickered faintly as though observing Kylie’s actions, before finally surrounding her, and providing her some cover. Kylie’s eyes were shut in pain, her brows furrowed in distress and hurt.

The journey ahead was still fraught with unknown challenges. As the guardians regrouped, preparing to depart the Nexus, a sudden, dissonant hum echoed throughout the realm. The harmonious strands of moments that made up the Nexus began to waver, their luminescent glow flickering ominously. Nebula, her senses always attuned to the cosmos, suddenly looked up with alarm. "Wait... something's not right. The stars," she whispered, her voice edged with panic, "some of them are... vanishing." The guardians followed her gaze upwards, witnessing a surreal sight. The once vibrant constellations were slowly but steadily dimming, stars winking out of existence as if being erased from the fabric of time.

************************************************* A massive countdown symbol appeared across the sky, glowing with cosmic light. And a voice echoed across every realm simultaneously: “Existence reset begins in seven days.” The stars started going out one by one.

Rhea muttered, just loud enough for Luna to hear. Luna did not disagree. The universe did not hand out neat maps. Someone tugged on her cloak. She looked down. The same pup who had asked if it was night stared up at her, eyes huge. “Alpha,” he whispered, “are the stars dying?” Luna knelt. She searched for a simple lie that might soothe him. Found none that tasted right. “Some are,” she said gently. “Some are… changing. Like wolves. Some grow old and send out one last bright gift, then go quiet. Others move to new places. Others are born where you cannot see them yet.”

"Go ahead, little one. I’ll just clean the slobber off later.” The sky was clear of snow clouds and painted a dusky periwinkle color. The innumerable stars glittered across that canvas, bright and colorful. Faline stared up and up, taking in as much detail as she possibly could. Since she lost her farfetched sight, Faline had decided to burn these images into her memory as best she could.
