The excitement from the other members as the word of the new pack member pending. I go back in to check on my little mate, filled with excitement for my cousin and sadness that she is not awake to celebrate with us. Enyo’s colour has definitely gotten better over the last twenty four hours. I gently move a few strands of her red hair off her beautiful face, the sparks from the bond tickling my fingers.

a mocking voice echoes down the hall, loud and confident, dripping with irony. “You bastard… you killed my father!” Mark yells, sprinting like a beast, his eyes bloodshot with darkness. “Eh, eh… I don’t think so,” Logan lifts an AK-47 from the ground. It’s dirty, rusty, but on the gas pistons, you can just make out a black “5” with smoke curling from it. For some reason, Mark sees it too. He freezes mid-step, and Sam doesn’t move either. I can’t comprehend anything.

Building the foundation of something that felt genuinely sustainable. The leather of the couch was cool against my back, but everything else in the room was burning. Eli was a heavy, solid weight pressing me down into the cushions, his hands framing my face like I was the only thing in the world that mattered. I could feel the ragged rhythm of his breathing against my neck, a hot, steady pulse that matched the frantic drumming in my own chest. "You have no idea," he rasped, his voice vibrating deep in his throat. He pulled back just enough to look me in the eye, and the intensity there was staggering—a mix of raw hunger and something so fiercely protective it made my breath hitch.
