Six Months Prior: Winter Break 2022 I just got home from college this afternoon after my most stressful semester of school yet and with a hellish week of finals behind me, I came straight to the bar to meet my friends. Our high school senior class was super close. There weren’t any cliques; every friend group just intermixed making us one of the closest graduating classes our school had ever seen. Even four years later, we all go to the same bars when we’re home. The same parties. The same restaurants. The running joke is you couldn’t see a Riverside High School alumni without seeing at least three more in tow.

And now, as we watched our little girl head off to high school, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. Because we had made it. We had built a life together, a family. And no matter what the future held, we would face it together. --- The years passed by in a whirlwind. Emma’s high school years were a mix of excitement, challenges, and laughter. She thrived academically, her intelligence and quick wit taking her far. She joined the debate team and the drama club, finding her voice and her place in the world. She questioned the world's cruel design, forcing every teenager to endure this hell. Nevertheless, she felt relieved to have reached her final year, graduating smoothly with no issues as her sole remaining task. Not knowing that this was merely the beginning of a life-altering series of unforeseen events.

Joyful cheers echoed in one of the school buildings. Today is the most awaited day by all Senior High School students, namely Graduation, after studying for three years they can finally complete their studies and get a diploma. Not only that, they will also immediately release their 'student' status and will change it to 'student'. Yeps, is that for those who will continue their education to a higher level, for those who will not? Maybe they have other plans to achieve their goals.
