The doctor warned that Jackson would initially feel uneasy, anxious, and off-balance as his bones broke, and his body reshaped into his wolf form. He advised Jackson to take deep breaths and stay calm, despite the intense pain that would follow. Krystal promised to support Jackson, offering as much help as he needed.

I had to find help. Damon signaled to Jackson, to take me away. Jackson approached me, his eyes filled with concern. I fought back, refusing to leave Damon's side. But Jackson was persistent. He held me in place and began pulling me away, his grip firm but gentle. I struggled against him, tears streaming down my face. "Please, Lily," Jackson pleaded. "We have to go. Damon needs us to survive." Reluctantly, I allowed Jackson to lead me away, my heart breaking at the sight of Damon's wolf form. He transformed into a huge black-furred wolf with red hair on the tip, ready to defend his pack and me.

They’re planning something big and I have no idea what it is, but it’s got everyone on edge.” There’s a long pause on the other end of the line. “Dixie, this sounds insane. Werewolves? Full moons? What are you talking about?”

“She is scared of me.” “Then show her there is nothing to be afraid of,” he retorts. “You’re a werewolf-vampire hybrid, for heaven’s sake! You have power and strength beyond measure.” “But all that power and strength will mean nothing if it scares the woman I love away from me,” I murmur quietly. “Well then,” Jackson says slowly, “Maybe it’s time you show her that your power and strength are not something she should fear but something she should feel protected by.” I look at Jackson then, really look at him. The usually goofy and jovial vampire is nowhere to be seen. In his place sits a mature figure of wisdom.

He threw the three dead bodies of rabbits into the hole. Auntie Caroline inhaled deeply. Mr. Jackson paused and looked at Auntie Caroline. “I told you, don’t worry too much, Carol!” Sonya closed the back door and she continued walking into the kitchen. She clenched her teeth as she poured the cold water from the jar that she took out from the fridge into a glass. She kept listening to their conversation from her place. “So, I told you, she inherited both bloodlines of a werewolf and a white witch, Carol. I could smell it from her scent lately.” Mr. Jackson spoke while his mouth was busy chewing the tobacco.
