Her cold smile reached her eyes and she laughed, shaking her head at me. “You know, Ezra, it seems to me like you have been too juvenile to see what was going on right under your own roof.” She said, looking me in the eye. “But I will have to inform you, this is the first of whatever hell you think you would be dealing with. Challenging Killian is not going to be good for you, you know, the man does not forgive those who he believes have betrayed him, and you, Ezra, have done nothing more than betray him through this entire time.”

Mrs Hoyle added. Hearing Rosaline Hoyle with the praises, two people’s faces visibly darkened. Since everyone’s attention was more on Jade, the duo were able to conceal their expressions. Lily Greeley hid her fist which she clenched tightly away from anyone’s sight. She could not help but feel the comparison in Mrs Hoyle’s words. She was never able to understand the workings of the business world and that the one thing she could by no means outshine Jade on. Jade Greeley was known as a business protégé.

Mike smiled up at me. “I need you to keep Lynn with you. You are her protection.” Oh hell no, is this what he wanted me to do, protection duty. “What are you playing at Mike? I will help you deal with Joseph but I am not keeping that woman with me and protecting her. Forget it.” Mike glared at me and I glared right back. He had me fucked up if he thought I was doing this, I’m not a guard dog. I am Jensen Daniels, the biggest name in New York aside from Joseph King.

Maya woke up to a beautiful sunny morning, with the birds chirping outside her window. As she was stretching, she noticed her closest guard standing in front of her with a serious expression. "What is it?" she asked, sensing that something was wrong. "Maya, I have some news that you need to hear," he replied, his voice grave. "Diana has bought the stock you wanted and is now cooperating with the Blood Moon pack. They've canceled the agreement you had with them."

My eyes darted to him when I felt eyes on me. He was just standing a meter away from my table, looking at me with such curiosity but there's something more to it. It's as if he's relieved and glad to see me, sitting, doing work. But, being the great Cyrus Steele, he covered it all up in a blink of an eye. A man walked by his side, and I assumed that it was his father, Elijah, approached us, and looking at Katerina he froze for a second before shaking his head, snapping himself out of whatever daze he fell into. “Alpha Domenico” he said, looking at the Lycan who smiled. “Elijah, it is nice seeing you here” “I am part of the city’s businessmen, it is only right to attend such social events” he said, smiling at him before turning to face Katerina and I “my apologies for my rudeness. I’m Elijah Grimaldi, and this is my wife, Sophia Grimaldi”

“I served her to be the best that she was. She entered that place not even wanting to be one of them, and now she gets to play Luna. I stood by her side, heard her secrets, and when she grew out of them, she is now playing polite and graceful? Elijah sat up, his grin widening. “Then stop letting her win.” I met his gaze. “You think I haven’t tried? He’s guarding her like she’s some treasure he just discovered. And the worst part? She doesn’t even see what she’s doing to him. She doesn’t even know him, and she doesn’t know that she was nothing more than a deal.”

All eyes were focused on me and I started to feel a bit self-conscious but I ignored the feeling. "Thank you, everyone," I verbalized in appreciation as I climbed the stage, trying to look and sound as if this was just something normal for me. "Okay. I am Giordana Quinton, who happens to be Ella's best friend. In fact, Ella is more than just a best friend to me. She's the sister I never had, one big blessing I'm forever thankful for. Ella, I love you so much and I'm so happy that God gave you a man like Drew.

I’ve been periodically taking some home with me to make room. Once Ally woke, they came clean about their relationship with Detective Dan. Apparently, since he took her statement in my office they have been seeing each other in secret due to the fact that Ally was a witness in his case. Once Joshua is put away they can openly date and to be honest I am really happy for both of them. Ally is extraordinary and Dan seems really grounded and an overall good guy.
