She was running and running along the path laid out not knowing where she was going. Eloisa ran all the way to the hospital from the pub, which was almost on the other end of the village. As soon as she heard the news, she closed the pub and ran all the way to the hospital. When she reached her mother's room, she saw her sleep and nurse fixing her saline tube. Eloisa entered the room and the nurse looked up at her. The room smelt so stale and filled with medicinal smell that it made her almost choke. She had never really liked hospitals anyway. She came to the hospital only three times including today. Not once she felt comfortable here. Hospitals always smell of stale and death to her. The

Maze let out a small laugh,her cheeks flushed and her eyes sparkling. “What's your name?” Even though I thought the question odd,I still answered it. “Jordan Marcel Black.” She nodded, “and what's the colour of this beauty?” I nearly rolled my eyes as it clicked,but Maze went on. “And look,it's eyes are the same colour as yours!” “No they aren't.” “Yes they are!” I averted my gaze to hide a smile,no need to encourage her impulsive purchase. “My eyes are…greener,” I said as I turned to face her again. And with her brows slightly raised,she glanced down at the suspiciously quiet animal,as if to confirm.

I answered for her. "All part of the plan, make them think they are invincible, then take them down when they least expect it," Maze said. We watched as the bounty hunter made his way toward his prey. He pushed his way through a mass of drug-filled dancers to get to the fat enforcer who was having the time of his life. Maze brought out a small walkie-talkie and spoke one word into it. "Now." The music changed into fast-paced electro dance music and the lights faded revealing the glowing walls of light. The dancing and jumping got faster and rougher, disorienting the bounty hunter.

He recognized the toy, recalling the whimsical trickets the Head maid used in decorating Lyra's room. Ethan's face turned red as he stood up, his fists clenched. , "No, don't go yet. I'm sure this is the royal seal." He banged his fist on the keepsake box, making it shake. His voice rose, "You can't leave, this is important." The shareholders abd attendees shook their heads saying, "That's the problem with young CEO's. They are immature." Only Ethan and Harrison were left, staring at each other. Harrison looked happy that Ethan lost at the last minute. Now, the shareholders will think Ethan was just joking around and wouldn't listen to him anymore.

Maya’s POV Jamie slides a look in my direction. “You sure this is the place?” I stare at the rundown building in front of us, with unpainted walls, boarded-up and crumbling windows, and a heap of stinking dirt just beside the building itself. I nod. “Yup. Michael was always a private person. He ran his missions solo, and the higher-ups let him—when wouldn’t allow anyone else—because he always brought results.” He sucks his teeth. “Huh. So are we walking into a trap? Is he the kind of man who has a bunch of sharp objects buried under false floorboards, waiting for a gullible person to fall to their death?”

Grace scratches behind my ear, distracting me momentarily as I lean into her touch, a small smile on my snout. “I guess we should be going now. Airia packed this bag with food for us so we will be good to go all night.” Grace states, her hand leaving my ear as she moves to my side. I bend down, allowing her to climb onto my back and relish in the feel of her eight on me while she stretches out. Her hands come around my neck, her fingers interlocking. With a small sigh, she lets me know she is ready and we take off. I allow Amelia to take the lead with Sunny on her head, the little Pixie telling the blonde wolf when to turn in the maze like walls of trees that the Fae have created to protect

She could feel his heart beating against her back, could smell gunpowder and something darker on his clothes. The guards passed by. Kept going. "They'll find the unconscious one," Tia whispered. "I know. We need to move now." They ran for the stairs, Tia's lungs burning as they descended two steps at a time. Behind them, an alarm began to wail. "All units, we have a security breach on executive level. Lock down all exits." Dante grabbed her hand and pulled her faster. They burst out of the stairwell on the ground floor and sprinted toward the loading dock.

I stared at Mike then started to walk forward, but he stopped me. “Where is Jensen first?” Mike said with an intensity in his voice. Joseph laughed and nodded at one of the men who walked back to one of the cars. When he came back he pushed a man down in front of Joseph. He was badly beaten and almost unrecognizable, but I knew it was Jensen. I let out a sharp gasp and he immediately looked up at me. His eyes were swollen, but I could still see the fear in them the minute he saw me.

Top, Mark and the other three guys shook their head as they looked at Maze. "Why does it seems that you're more panicking than Gabriel who had the bleeding wound, Maze?" Top said smugly but Maze ignored him. It's true. I'm in pain but I'm not panicking unlike my husband. 'Tsk. I'm not dying yet, dumbass.' I almost blurted out but he's lucky that I'm in pain right now. Tsk. "You can move now, Maze." Crimson said while smiling smugly. Maze seemed to be hesitant and he looked at me but I just stared at him. He then, slowly and carefully removed his hand on my wound before standing up.
