He met our gaze with a sheepish grin, his hand instinctively covering his mouth. "Sorry," James chuckled, his voice muffled by his hand. "I guess it's all those cookies.

There were several questions in her mind and I simply gave her a sheepish smile. "You forgot, didn't you?"

He was grinning. What was that supposed to mean?

“I like that he makes you happy.” “Me too,” I whisper. Too happy for words to adequately describe. Her fingers brush my jaw, she runs a thumb over my lips. I tense. “Do you like girls?” “No,” she replies. The space between us vanishes. Her knee presses to mine and I curl against the railing. This is getting awkward real fast. “Why?” “You’re looking at me strange.” She backs away. “You’re a sheep.” “Meh,” I sing, mimicking a sheep to mask my relief at the distance she creates. “Meh. Meh.”

Though, it was meant for a joke, but you obviously took it seriously. My huge smile then turned into a tiny one. An apologetic one, to be exact. "Sorry. I didn't mean to offend you, but I mean it when I said I love how cheesy are you." Your stare lowered as you let out another tiny sheepish smile. That action only made me feel worse.

Grinning. “Oops,” he said with a sheepish shrug. “Sorry, I overheard. Paper-thin walls, you know. And, uh, open door.” My stomach sank. “Oh God,” I muttered, pressing a hand to my face. The universe had a terrible sense of humor. “Please tell me you didn’t catch the part where I called him a persistent ad.” He grinned wider. “I did, actually. And for the record, that’s kind of accurate.”

He just leaned back on his elbows, lips curling into a grin that made me want to slap him. “Busted,” he said simply.

, he asked. Immediately after he asked, my stomach growled in response before I could say anything, and that made Alexander smile. It was not a smirk, a mocking smile, a sinister smile, or an I-know-it-all smile. It was a genuine, heartwarming smile. He found my stomach growl funny, while I found it embarrassing. The smile faded in less than fifteen seconds, but at least there was progress. He had not held back from smiling, trying to press his lips together even when they tried to curl up, like he had done before. He did not maintain a straight and expressionless face like he normally did, or smirk like he was my evil superior who found more ways to demean me. So, yes, I liked that he smile

She was trapped. “Don’t call me sugar,” she muttered. “Sugar it is then,” he grinned. “Ass.” “Oooh, I should get you some soap,” he smirked and leaned in, whispering in her ear. “Wash out that dirty mouth of yours.” He sat back and chuckled at Indianna’s surprised expression. “I wanted to apologise, Indie, about the pain I caused you. I didn’t want to, but you weren’t listening to me.” He shrugged and scratched his stubble. “I don’t like it when people don’t do as I say.”

He grinned. “Fuck yeah.”
