We’re battling for a future. “Then we keep fighting,” I respond, my voice tightening. “No matter what.” “Good,” Vincent replies, a trace of a smile flickering on his lips. “Because it’s not over.” He’s right. It’s never over. But we’re ready. Or so I thought. The door breaks open, and the world erupts into turmoil once more. A second wave of assailants rushes the room, their motions fast and lethal. I hardly had time to respond, my body moving on instinct.
