The gates were painted a dark, classic black and were flanked by stone pillars and ornate lampposts. We got to the gate guarded by tight security, the window beside Ethan was wound down, they recognized him and waved the car in. As we passed through the gates, the sounds of laughter, music, and clinking glasses filled the air. We were greeted by a long, gravel driveway lined with mature trees and shrubs, creating a sense of privacy and exclusivity. The slow blinking of that stop light seemed to harmonize with the quietness of the evening. I looked at Edgar and he was frowning at the stop light.
