Alpha Alexander’s POV I ensured Vanessa cleared her plate before glancing back to confront her defiant look. She's always had a streak of sassiness, but at seventeen, she withdrew into herself until she departed from the pack. Now, that spirited girl is resurfacing, and do I feel proud? Somewhat. Leaning against the window, I fold my arms, concealing my genuine interest to maintain distance. This facade is necessary for both of us; I must play the heartless figure she detests to make this work, or it'll all be futile. I can maintain this act for now, resuming my normal self behind closed doors.
