Heidi shouted from the center of the diamond. The young girl broke free from Remus’s grip and stepped to the front, her long dark hair whipping around her face. She raised both her small hands toward the sky. A brilliant, pulsing dome of emerald light exploded from her palms, expanding outward until it formed a perfect, translucent shield around the twenty-one fighters.
