I lost my footing on the slick pavement, hitting the ground hard. “Dammit!” My palms were raw, and blood seeped through the fabric at my knees. The sting was sharp, but the panic in my chest was sharper. I fumbled for my phone and hit Noah’s name. One ring. Two. Five. On the seventh attempt, he finally picked up. “Ivy? What’s happened? I’m still at the Ryder Global labs—we’ve got a massive breach in the firewalls. The whole security pack is working overtime. Did you finish your shift at the medical center?”

"I'll wait right here." Violet darted into the room, pulling things from her armoire in a frenzy, until the scent of rain hit her nose. She froze. Storms didn't come to Ipsit, Curzon had made that clear. Thunder rumbled outside. Violet went to the window, her footsteps heavy. She feared finding nothing on the other side—that she was tricking herself. She flung the window open. The damp air engulfed her. Clouds hung low in the darkness, reaching into the valley. Lighting streaked to the south.

Violet said as she's trying to push me out from her changing room. "No baby.. I'm staying here.. No." "She won't go anywhere." Blake pulled me out and I sighed. "I hate you, Austin Portwalt!" Violet hissed before Jean closed the door. "See.. See that behavior! If she runs away.. I'm going to kill you!" I hissed at Blake and he laughed. "She won't run away.. If she does.. You can make another wedd-" I turned to Blake and glared big time. He gestured to me to get into my changing room. I walked in and turned on my laptop to activate the CCTV in Violet's changing room.

What could have prompted this her behavior? Violet was getting scared… her mission, was officially on hold.

His small body curled softly against me, warm and trusting, and I pressed my cheek lightly to the top of his head. Across the courtyard, Violet abandoned her conversation and made her way to the trays again. Her steps lost their earlier confidence. She looked over each bottle, her breath growing uneven as she searched for the one she had planted. She found it in the wrong position and froze. She whispered something under her breath, then lifted it too quickly, like she expected it to disappear from her hand.

Violet shouted as she felt something ominous rise within her. She left them to do her bidding as she got out her crystal and tried to gaze into the ball. She only saw darkness and she almost yelled in frustration. She opened a tray that carried different poultices and began adding them to the mixture in Elise's hands. She collected the bowl and began chanting. The vulture began to shake and say Luna stone, Luna stone in a hoarse voice. Bianca backed away while Elise looked at the animal with interest. Violet suddenly had to stop mixing when her phone rang. “ It is your mate Elise and he is asking for you.”

Nia took out her wings, wings like a butterfly yet transparent and glittering. "Violet try to take out your wings too and stand beside Nia," I ordered Violet. "Yes sir." Violet was immediately beside Nia and then took out her wings. In stark contrast to the wings of the two of them, Violet had black-purple wings surrounded by an aura of black mist. Could he be behind this cryptic message, or was there another, even darker force at play? The parchment, now held tightly in Violet's grasp, seemed to pulsate with an energy of its own. As they exchanged uneasy glances, another gust swept through, this time snatching the parchment from Violet's hand. It spiraled upward, disappearing into the night sky as quickly as it had appeared.
