He woke up at five a.m. as the car next door started, spluttered, and died. The car started again on the second try and Jake shook his head as he watched her reverse. Where the hell was she going so early in the morning?
The car was a death trap, and he was surprised that it was roadworthy. It wasn’t his business, not really. He kept telling himself that as he spent an hour in his gym, showered and ate breakfast. He pulled his leather jacket on and got on his bike.
