Here is a sneak peak of the book.. Chapter One September 17, 2007 “Am I speaking to a mister Owen Matthews?” “Um, yeah, that would be me.. Can I help you?” He does not recognize the female voice on the other end of the line but he has to admit, it is a beautiful voice. He would know how to spot a lovely voice, considering her heard random voices all day long.

"Colleen, I finally found you!" As he said that, he reached out to hug me. I stepped back and stared at him coldly. "Mr. Johnson, please stay away from me. You're dirty. Just seeing you makes me sick." Adrian seemed wounded by my words. He looked at me almost pleadingly. "Colleen, where have you been? I've been searching for you for months, worried you weren't eating or sleeping well. I was wrong before. Please, forgive me." Then, he noticed my wedding dress. His expression shifted to excitement.

As he looked at my photo, his vision blurred. At that moment, I floated beside him, my heart at peace. I even saw Juliette's gaze darken as she turned away quietly. Under the countless spotlights, she pulled off the white cloth to reveal a grotesque, eerie painting. It depicted a burned woman staring blankly into the distance. Her expression of agony and despair drew everyone's attention. It was undoubtedly an unmatched work of art. Juliette turned to look at the painting. "This piece is dedicated to my dearest sister."

"I should be the one saying that. Thank you for choosing me." Snow still fell over Droskav, but the winter no longer felt cold. Because beside me stood the person I wanted to spend forever with.

"Don't kill him! He's my friend's brother—he's family. My friend will be devastated if her brother dies." The Hunter's smile fades, replaced by a look of impatience. "Enough with the excuses," he growls, raising the stake above his head. Winter's eyes go wide with fear, and then, something changes. Her gaze hardens, her jaw setting in determination. "No!" she screams, the sound echoing through the yard like a thunderclap. A forcefield of wind explodes from her body, like a bomb going off, the shockwave rippling through the atmosphere.

Looking at the calm lake, Silje continued to whisper, “All my life, I fought against the world. Yes, I fought and fought to survive. I didn’t want to be seen as weak by others, so I made sure not to show any tears. I am sorry that I can’t even give you a small gravestone to remember you by. I’m sorry I can’t do anything for you. All I can do is to say goodbye to you here… Don’t ever forgive your mother.” Silje cried silently. Her tears rolled down like prized pearls and covered her face. She clenched her teeth so that she wouldn’t sob uncontrollably. Her heart was bleeding. Suddenly, she heard the swans cry as well. Winter swans. Were they crying for her? Crying with her? Silje smiled faintl

"Then write it. Write the truth. That staying is enough." --- Winter died on the winter solstice, as the witnesses gathered for the longest night. She was sitting on the stone bench, her hands on the gold flowers, her eyes on the stars. The witnesses found her there at dawn, her breathing still, her face peaceful. Solenne knelt beside her and closed her eyes. "She is with them now. The Archivist. Clara. Morwen. Seren. Iriel. She is in the soil. In the roots. In the watcher."

he grins. Winter is staring out the window, scared he will harm them. She quickly closes the curtains as he turns around to walk back home.

The door to my room swung open, and Winter entered, wrapping his arms around me from behind. I could feel drain taking him from me little by little as he gets himself so addicted to it, it wouldn't be long before his demise, I felt a surge of bitterness; I knew I would ultimately have to kill my mate as well.
