Chapter 131: The Council of Wolves A cool autumn breeze stirred the banners outside the grand council hall as the Blue Moon Pack gathered for a meeting that many hoped would mark a turning point in their collective future. The hall’s massive wooden doors creaked open to reveal a cavernous space filled with natural light that filtered in through tall, arched windows. Inside, wolves of every age, rank, and background took their seats around a large circular table—the table a symbol of equality and shared purpose.

That was the first thing I said to Hazel when she picked up. “I am sorry you had to see that, Bella, but we have good news. We have about thirty wolves in the den, so we have only twenty left. How many have you been able to get?” “None. He won’t let me go,” I said, and she sighed. “I am sure we will be able to find more today. Just four for the five of us, and we will be done,” she said, trying to assure me.

The back two rows were where the jocks sit, and they were almost always called on and rarely got an answer right. Minutes later, the other wolves filed in, the stragglers making it just before the first bell rang. The school was called Wolf High, an elite school for werewolves. It was located in the town just outside three bordering packs on neutral territory, so all the young wolves from those packs went here. It made for a great opportunity to create allies and maintain a balance in the area since we wolves could see the strength each pack possesses. I had a few friends I could rely on at school, but none were in my pack.

The three women frowned at the two naked men in the bushes. “Sirs, if you would mind getting decent, we can discuss this further after that. Please remember this is my den you enter.” Basically, a wolf’s den is their domain, and the wolf has first and last words on everything that happens there. With wolf shifters, their den is their home. This is why homes lay closely scattered. It lessened territory disputes between pack mates. The Alphas overstepped Aunty Mae’s hospitality and invaded her domain without permission. “Ladies, we’ll take this inside and give the gentlemen a moment.” If looks could kill, Aunty Mae would have wracked up a couple of kills.
