LOGIN“Don’t worry, I am not that unreasonable,” Alaine said as she looked at her daughter, afraid that she might misunderstand and think that she was still favoring Eve over her.
Tracy gave her the last glance before she walked towards the massage bed and lay down.
Since both women had been staring at her, they sighed, but each had a different emotion about the scene.
“Go buy us lunch,” Rhoda said as she dragged Alaine out and then closed the door.
Immediately, she turned to Tracy, and she found that the girl had already fallen asleep. She stared at Tracy for a while as she wondered whether she was really asleep or had just closed her eyes so as not to speak to anyone.
Though she had prepared herself to speak to the girl, with the sudden move, she couldn’t. She sighed as she thought that since she was back, they still had a lot of time to talk; there was no need for her to rush things.
She observed Tracy’s skin for a while to know what type it was before walking to the shelf, where all cosmetic products were placed. She couldn’t risk her Goddaughter’s skin, and also, she wanted to help repair it to the most perfect state.
After picking the right and necessary cosmetics, she walked to the sink and started mixing them. It took more than ten minutes as she had to make sure that the product was mixed very well.
She walked back to Tracy, pushed the moving table next to her, placed the bowl with mixed cosmetics, and said.
Tracy hummed, causing Rhoda’s lips to purse, as she guessed that she had indeed been correct; the latter didn’t want to speak.
She looked at the little girl with pity in her eyes, but it was just for a few seconds as she understood that Tracy didn’t want anyone to pity her.
Yes, she was correct, to Tracy, when she needed that pity in her previous life, she never received even a percentage of it, so why should anyone show it to her when she had her life on track?
As Rhoda was working on her body, Tracy was busy, thinking about what she should do next, thinking that even if she got along with her mother in this past life, she still had to be independent so as not to let anyone take advantage of her.
However, when she thought of her current financial status, she sighed inwardly, feeling frustrated and wishing that she could scream it out loud, if not crying.
“Relax, let your face, your body relax,” Rhoda said as Tracy’s muscles kept moving alongside different emotions. As a beautician who had worked in the industry for many years, she had learnt to read someone’s expression; each expression caused the muscles to move in a certain way.
She had been staring at Tracy for a while when she saw the muscle movement, as it could make the treatment not effective.
Hearing Rhoda’s words, Tracy sighed as she forced herself not to overthink anything.
Seeing that she had stopped, Rhoda started applying the mixture, which worked as a mask on Tracy’s face.
“Do you want a mask on your face only or even your body?” She suddenly asked as she felt that she didn’t have any right to choose for the girl.
“Everywhere,” Tracy said, just one word, and Rhoda nodded as she had also thought of it. With the mask doing its work, they would be able to know how long it will take for the body to turn white again and for the scars to fade.
Rhoda walked to the cosmetic shelf, took a larger bowl, some containers that had the body cosmetics, and then carried what she could to the sink before returning for the rest.
She added one cosmetic after the other, as any slight error would lead to the body’s irritation upon being applied.
Since she wanted the body mask, she took longer than previously. She regretted not asking Tracy before she started working. Luckily, the face mask she had made was supposed to last for two to three hours to sink in properly.
She had chosen it as she had wanted for Tracy’s face to be repaired as she worked on her body; after that, she would return to work on it.
After thirty twenty minutes, she walked back to Scarlet, holding the larger bowl, and placed it on the moving table. Took a pair of new gloves from the side and wore them before starting to work.
“You are supposed to feel some chill as the mask is cold, but in case you feel any irritation, please tell me immediately,” Rhoda said.
“Okay.” Since she had not been speaking too much, Tracy was afraid that the women would think that she was arrogant, which she didn’t want, so she opted to just speak loudly.
Alaine started working, and just as she had stated, Tracy felt a wave of chill all over her body, soothing her, and her muscles started relaxing slowly.
Rhoda could tell this, and a smile appeared on her face. She didn’t rush anything; she applied as she massaged the girl. At some point, Tracy felt sleepy but was afraid of inconveniencing the woman when she finished with the front part.
“We are just about to finish the front, wait a little bit,” Rhoda said before looking at the body, her lips pursed, and added. “Thirty more minutes.”
Tracy was speechless as she wondered whether thirty minutes was ‘about the finish,’ but she was too lazy to speak; she pretended that she didn’t hear anything.
“Or, you can just sleep, and I will wake you then,” Rhoda said, and as soon as she completed that sentence, Tracy drifted to sleep.
Feeling the muscles more relaxed than before, Rhoda knew that the girl was already asleep. She was dumbfounded at how fast she slept, but continued working as it would be easier and faster when the muscles were completely relaxed.

Alaine stared at Rhoda, her gaze unfocused, all that was ringing in her ears were Rhoda’s words: ‘This is the kind your precious daughter lived when she was in Eve’s place. ‘Tracy frowned as she could tell that there was something wrong with the woman, but she didn’t want to speak, believing that it wasn’t life-threatening.What Tracy could tell Rhoda could do. She looked at Alaine, displeased as she wondered when her friend had become this weak. She sighed as she started shaking the woman so as to wake her up, causing Alaine to jump in fright.Seeing that it was Rhoda’s, she calmed down a little bit, but she was displeased with the woman’s actions.“Why did you do that?” Her eyes were full of anger, but a hint of confusion.Rhoda rolled her eyes at her and said, “You need to leave so that we can start the treatment.”Alaine stared at her for a while, something inside her telling her that the woman was lying, but since she wasn’t in a good mood, she nodded her head. She turned around
“Y…you, what happened to you?” she asked as she stammered, her eyes still on the scars and wounds at the latter’s naked parts. However, just as she asked that question, she shook her head, thinking that she was foolish, how could she ask her that question when its quite evident what had happened.“Alaine, come in here,” she shouted, startling both Tracy and Alaine.Tracy stared at her, a frown on her face, not understanding what that woman was calling her mother for.She opened her mouth to say something but her mother had already opened the door.As soon as she walked in, she looked around panickingly, didn’t see anything wrong and sighed in relief. “Why are you screaming? Gosh, someone might think that something bad has happened,”Hearing her words, Rhoda turned to her, fury in her eyes and face. “Nothing bad? Are you blind?”Alaine frowned, not understanding why the latter was behaving like that. “Can you come down and explain what’s wrong?”Rhoda pointed at the woman, her chest ri
“Hae Rhoda,” Alaine greeted the lady behind the desk when they walked into the spa.The woman who was busy typing on the keyboard lifted her head. When she saw Alaine, a smile appeared on her face. “Hae Alaine. Weren’t you here a few days ago?”“I brought my daughter today,” Alaine said.Rhoda nodded as they were used to seeing Eve every week. She looked around and couldn’t see Eve. She turned to Alaine with a confused gaze. “Where is she?”“Here she is,” Alaine said as she pulled Tracy closer to her. “I bet you haven’t seen the company’s news.”Rhoda shook her head, then stared at the woman waiting for her to tell her what was going on.“The kids were swapped at birth. She is my biological daughter, Tracy. Can you please be the one serving her?”Rhoda stared at the girl whom her friend had introduced. Hearing her last sentence, she frowned, not understanding why the latter would request such a thing, but she still nodded as the woman really requested anything.“I am your mom’s friend
“Of course not, dear. Since that’s what you want, then we can go with that,” Alaine said.“You heard what my daughter said, the banquet should be one of a kind. You have a week,” she said.“Okay, madam,” the secretary replied, and the call was disconnected.“Wow, with that kind of heiress, I wouldn’t mind working overtime to make this banquet the prettiest,” one of the secretaries said, and the others nodded their heads.“Why don’t we divide the work? That way, we can do a great job. I also have a feeling that we won’t be given other tasks apart from that.” The others nodded as they all wanted to contribute as a way to thank Tracy for speaking for them.“The boss might not, but you know her husband.” Upon hearing those words, everyone stopped talking as they knew how Mr Grant was; he always allocated tasks to them so that everyone could see that he had a say. Still, he didn’t have a lot of the company’s shares. After hanging up the call, Alaine opened Weibo, looked at the company’s mai
Alaine stared at Tracy, thinking her daughter’s laugh was so pleasing to the ears, but something felt uneasy.“What? The Grants heiress needs to ask her husband for permission? Are you the company’s CEO or is he? No, sorry, aren’t you the Grant’s daughter? So your words carry more weight than his, right?” Tracy asked, causing Alaine to panic.“You just claim that you need to ask your husband for his decision; if he refuses, you will claim that it wasn’t that you didn’t do it, but he did? I am so sure that you sure how he favors Eve more than he favors me, right?”Tracy looked at her mother with indifference, her heart already gone cold with everything that happened. Well, she went back to being the indifferent Tracy who had just walked into the Grants' mansion after being reborn.“Anyways, Miss Grant, if you don’t want to acknowledge me, just say so; please stop wasting my time. I need to go look for a cheap house to live in,” Tracy added, but Alaine understood those unsaid words. She,
Despite walking hurriedly, the distance between the two continued widening, causing Alaine to panic. Her face was full of tears, making everyone who passed her look at her twice as they found her too pretty and rich. With no option, she stopped a motorbike that passed her.“Can you please reach that
Alaine stared at Tracy, her heart aching. She understood that the latter must have gone a lot to make her doubt everyone.“You are my daughter, my flesh and blood, so how can I not be ashamed of you?” she said before turning to Lilian and her brother.“I am sorry for making a fool out of myself,” s
The driver frowned as he stared at the latter, who seemed frozen in the middle of the road, displeasure filling him as each second passed; his patience was running out.“Brother, it seemed the little girl is frightened; you really can’t blame her,” the girl in the passenger seat said with a chuckle
“Dad, how can Mom do that to me? Just because I am not her biological daughter? I thought that having brought me up, she has affection for me and loves me,” Eve said as she cried in her father’s arms.Mr Grant sighed helplessly. “You know that I can’t contradict her. Just bear with it at the moment
