I almost flew off my seat. When I turned around. Another car had crashed into mine.

“Really, Vivian?” I nodded, “But first, you have to take Sharon away.” “Right away.” Just as he had come, Sharon was dragged into the back seat like a rag. I thought John was joking. But to my surprise, he actually found 99 cars to crash into himself. When his assistant pulled him out from under the race car, he was unrecognizable. His entire body was disfigured, his face ruined, and he was completely disabled. John still tried to contact me but was locked away by his family.

“That’s a great idea, we can look at an intro course to give you an idea of what its like and see if you want to take it further.” Lottie smiles at me and gives my hand an excited squeeze. Her eyes widen and her face knots in terror. The high-pitched screech of breaks slices through the air and I turn in time to see the glinting silver grill of a huge white lorry just as it ploughs headfirst into the door beside me.

We haven't even known each other for so long. I was too lost in my thoughts that I barely noticed the red light and an SUV coming from the intersection. I frantically step on the breaks, but I was too far out. The SUV crashed against mine and sent the car tumbling over a few times. I shielded my face as the windshield shattered and fly around in the car.

The world spun around us as the car skidded, and before I could react, we crashed headfirst into a tree. Everything went black.

You only realize how lucky you are, when you have experienced something horrifying or a remarkably narrow escape. The screech of tires fills the air as our two vehicles collide in a violent crash. Glass shatters and metal crunches as my car is struck by a black SUV. Slamming into my tailgate, my eyes wide in shock as I grip the steering wheel. My vehicle starts to spin out of control as I fight hard to keep it on the road. With a sickening jolt, my car slams into a nearby pole, sending shards of glass and twisted metal flying through the air. The impact is so powerful that it knocks me unconscious, leaving me slumped over the steering wheel.

He tries to correct, his steering wheel jerking wildly, but the asphalt is too slick, the water too deep. The back tires lose traction, and his car begins to spin across the wet highway. I ease off my own gas, watching from a safe distance as he slides sideways. *One second. Two seconds.* *BOOM.* He crashes into the support beam of the massive, illuminated billboard. The impact is catastrophic, a sickening crunch of steel and glass that sends debris flying across the road like shrapnel. His car crumples inward, the hood folding like origami, the lights on the billboard flickering and dying as the support gives way, the metal groaning under the pressure.

“I have something to tell you about Tad. About my marriage!” “Alice, your mother told me that...” “Ignore whatever she said! It’s time our deal ends, Dad. I have proof and…” A deafening crash ripped through the car. A massive truck slammed straight into my right side. For a heartbeat, there was only the blinding glare of headlights and the screech of tires. Glass exploded, metal screamed. My body was hurled forward as the world spun violently out of control. My scream tore out of me, swallowed by crumpling steel and rushing wind as the car rolled once, twice before slamming down with a sickening, bone‑deep thud.

The only way to walk to her house, the distance from the coffee shop to her house is not that far, maybe only 15 minutes walk. Cara put on her earbuds, putting one hand in her coat pocket and holding an umbrella in the other. She kept humming, that afternoon the streets looked quiet, unlike usual. Maybe it's because it's been raining, the roads are muddy, the weather is also very cool and it's good to stay indoors while resting.
