My heart was beating so fast I was sure they could hear it over the low thrum of music. "Gentlemen," Lorenzo began, his voice carrying that smooth authority that made people listen whether they wanted to or not. "I'd like you to meet Ellie Knight." He paused, and I felt his eyes on me even though I was staring at my hands folded in my lap. "She's officially a Black Rose now, under our protection." The words settled over the table like a heavy blanket. I didn't know what being a Black Rose meant, but from the way the three strangers straightened in their seats, it was clearly something significant. Something that changed how they looked at me.

The forest was alive with the soft hum of crickets and the distant rustle of leaves, the moon casting everything in silver. Rosemary took a deep breath, her shoulders squaring as though she was bracing herself for something. She stepped forward, her bare feet sinking into the cool earth, and raised a hand. I watched her closely, the air around us shifting subtly, a faint hum of energy building. “Rose, what are you doing?” I asked cautiously. “Trust me,” she said, her voice calm.

It was blue and the length didn't exceed my knees with sleeves reaching my wrists and beads all around. I was out in a few minutes and sat in front of the mirror where Lucas stood. He was looking at the products I had and placed some of them on the table. I didn't think twice when he offered to help but at that moment, it didn't look like he knew a thing about make up but still, I had my fingers crossed. He was my only opportunity at the moment. "This is foundation, isn't it?" He said, showing me a transparent container with powder in it "I'm sure this is foundation"

She cajoled me. I nodded, impressed by her quick thinking. "That's a good idea. It'll give us both a chance to plant the bugs without raising suspicion." I couldn't help but chuckle at that. We spent the next hour discussing the details of our plan. Rose had some clever ideas about how to plant the bugs without arousing suspicion. As we talked, I found myself marveling at her strength and quick thinking. "You know," I said during a lull in our conversation, "I don't tell you enough how amazing you are." I complimented her.

Sean said before he made a rose appear seemingly from thin air, “A beautiful rose for the even more beautiful Claudia.” At those words Claudia’s expression darkened and she stood up causing her black gown to swirl around her matching the stormy look in her eyes. “What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?” he said while wondering why Claudia wasn’t teasing him about being corny like she normally would. At that Claudia looked at him and took the rose from his hand but said as she pricked her finger with a thorn, “Yes, a rose is beautiful, but it is dangerous due to its thorns. Like the rose, I may be beautiful, but I am a predator of the night. A monster wrapped in a pretty skin.” As she finish

I stored that information away for future reference now that I was going to a place completely filled with them. The salty air mixed with the rocking of the ship wasn't doing any good for my stomach so I headed back inside the ship. I stopped at my brother's level and spotted them at a dingy table playing a card game. Felix looked up and spotted me right away. Before I would have assumed that was because he was really aware of his surroundings but now I think it's more to do with his vampiric capabilities. "Hey, Rose, had enough of the salty air?" "Yeah. What are you guys playing?" I take a seat in the spare chair.

Orchids, lillies, hydrangeas, begonias, anthuriums, gerberas, and my favourite, roses. “Pretty right?” Victor says. “This is your favourite place in the palace?” I ask him. “Yes it is.” “Oh my gods.” I cross my arms “who the fuck are you and what have you done to the real Victor Dragomire.” “So dramatic.” he laughs and then he plucks a rose and then he hands it over to me, I look at the rose and then I look at him. “Seriously, this is is weird, what has been going on with you these past few weeks.”

Abigail started to roam from one place to another leisurely. “Such a surprise, My Lady,” An amused voice could be heard. “Indeed, Sir,” she responded with some surprise. “I heard this garden has roses in all colors. But now I guess there is something was a miss,” Abigail said. “And it is?” he asked. “In my place, we have multi-colored roses. I am surprised that I couldn’t find them here,” she responded. “Wow! I wish I could see them,” he said. “You can if you wish,” he said.

I saw a deep red rose under my hand. A Cadenza rose? But where did it come from? I picked it up and held it close to my nose and sniffed the fragrant flower. “Mm!” I sat up and looked around me. The entire bed was covered with a couple hundred roses in many varieties. I felt my jaw drop in total surprise. Several I recognized immediately by their coloring and pattern like the Chestnut Rose, Enchantress and especially the Setina which was one of my favorites. I picked up several more and made a small bouquet, pressing their soft petals to my face, inhaling their sweet aroma. My favorite scent!
