It Has Been Decided

Xander walked towards Cora and Xavier grabbed Nahla, “We’re so sorry mom, Dad is gone”, Xander said, his voice shaking with unshed tears.

Cora fell onto her knees and screamed in pain, wailing for her mate, her love.

“He can’t be gone, he just can’t”, Xander held her as she cried.

Nahla began sobbing, Xavier was holding her close, “How. Did. He. Die!”, she said screaming each word.

“Selene was supposed to be the one that got stabbed, he saved her life”, Xavier explained as he tried calming down his mate.

Hearing this made them cry even harder, he sacrificed himself to save his daughter. They couldn't be angry even if they wanted to. He made a sacrifice that any parent would have made without hesitation. But it still hurt that he was gone, he was a loving mate, a wonder father, and an amazing grandfather.

“Let’s go to the hospital, Loralei and Selene need us. We can see father as well, the doctors are cleaning him up”, Xander said solemnly, his voice cracking.

Everyone nodded and with heavy hearts Nahla teleported them to the hospital. “Where’s our mate and daughter”, Xavier quickly asked.

Maddie smiled sadly, “Follow me please”, she bowed her head in respect.

She led them to the Alpha Suite, Loralei was still asleep and hooked up to an I.V. she was dehydrated. She was also given a detox to help flush out the remainder of the toxins in her body.

Doctor Genesis was checking on a sleeping Selene, she turned towards them and bowed her head.

“I had to give her a sedative, she isn't taking the death of Glan well”, Nahla and Cora walked towards her.

Each sat on both sides of her, crying silently. “There’s something you should know Alpha’s and Luna, but I need Jack and Trent here”, Doctor Genesis said.

Xander and Xavier walked to their daughter, they looked up at the doctor confused. Just then Jack and Trent walked in, rushing to their mates side.

“What is going on?”, Trent asked feeling the tension.

Jack lowered his head in sadness, knowing that Glan has passed on. “Dad died protecting Selene”, Nahla said quietly.

Trent walked to his Luna and Cora. “My deepest condolences”.

He knew that Glan did it without any regrets, he too would die for Loralei he if ever came to that.

“I know that we’re all grieving, but you all need to know that Loralei has endured a lot these two days”, the doctor started.

Everyone looked up to listen to what she had to say, “The Princess is pregnant, with twins”, she said.

“And before you all lose it, the pups belong to her mates”, the doctor quickly followed.

Everyone smiled, finally some good news.

“You said pups”, Jack said smiling, tears in his eyes.

“Yes, I did an ultrasound, Loralei conceived on the night you three mated. Because she’s a hybrid and will only be pregnant for four months, I was able to see both pups. One is bigger than the other, meaning one is lycan and one is wolf”, she explained.

Jack and Trent were beaming with so much love and pride at their mate, they kissed her cheeks and hugged one another. Xander and Xavier gave each other a hug, while Cora and Nahla shared a hug.

“So our little girl is pregnant”, Selene croaked, a small smile on her face.

Xander and Xavier walked to her, all four hugging, proud grandparents. Cora walked to her granddaughter, kissed her forehead and turned to her daughters.

“This has been quite an emotional day, I want all of you to rest”, she said to her daughters and sons in laws.

“Mom, I’m so sorry-“, Selene began.

Cora raised her hand to stop her, “Don’t be baby, your dad did what any parent would do, I would’ve gladly died to protect you girls”, she walked over and hugged both her girls.

They cried for a few minutes in each others embrace. This hurt so damn much, why did this have to happen.

“What’s going on?”, Loralei whispered, just waking up.

Jack grabbed her hand and Trent held up some water for her to drink.

“How are you feeling baby?”, Jack asked.

Loralei smiled at both her mates, “I’m happy to be home”, she said tiredly.

“We missed you so much ko mākou mō’ī wahine”, (Our Queen) Trent said.

Then Loralei’s eyes widened, remembering that Lyla said they’re pregnant.

“The pups?”, she asked.

“They’re perfect, one lycan and one wolf”, Jack said proudly.

“We are so lucky, thank you baby”, Trent added.

Loralei smiled and touched her flat belly, she was so happy. Lyla purred, being next to both her mates, the vibration could be heard. “We missed you so much Lyla”, both her mates said at the same time. Lyla howled in happinesses.

“I have to tell you all something”, Loralei began, her eyes watering.

“Baby we know what happened, but that doesn't change anything, you are our mate”, Trent started.

“We will get through this together, we love you so much”, Jack said.

Loralei let the tears fall, she was so scared her mates wouldn't want her anymore. “I told you they love us so much”, Lyla chirped.

“We’re here for you when you’re ready to talk about it”, Jack and Trent said kissing her forehead.

“I love you both so much”, Loralei told her mates.

Cora slipped out of the room to see Glan, she wanted to spend some time with him. Xander and Xavier took Selene home, they promised to come back in a few hours. Jack and Trent kept reassuring their mate how much she’s loved and how happy they are that she is home.

They kept telling her how much she means to them and how devoted they are to her and their pups. This eased Loralei’s mind so much and for the first time in days, she wasn't scared anymore.

They talked for an hour before Loralei fell back asleep, Jack and Trent never leaving her side. The pack warriors had all gone home to rest for a bit, the mission though exhausting was a success, the pack was happy to have their alpha princess back.

The older woman started preparing lots of food for everyone. Xander had announced that they’d be burying the warriors who lost their lives in the evening, which was only a few hours away. He also had several announcements to make.

In total the pack lost twenty warriors, Alatar lost two warlocks and a witch, Alpha Axel lost four warriors, and Mila lost one of the mercenaries. Had it not been for their planning and discretion, and even the vampires not knowing that they were under attack, they would of lost many more lives.

After another hour and once doctor Genesis made sure Loralei’s system was cleared of any toxins she released her. She was to return in a week for a follow up prenatal visit.

Loralei was finally able to use her gifts again, she teleported to her parents living quarters with her mates. They were happy to see their daughter, Nahla hugged her and rubbed her belly. Selene joined them and they talked about Glan and cried together.

Jack and Trent were talking to their Alpha’s, they kept apologizing for not being able to keep Loralei safe. “There was nothing the two of you could’ve done, we will get through this together”, Xander said.

Xander and Xavier each hugged the men, sharing a drink to congratulate them on their pups and a drink to honor Glan, one of the best men they had ever known.

“Tomorrow we’ll have to have a meeting to talk about finding Sirus and Charlie. It’s only a matter of time before they come after us and try to take Loralei again”, Xavier said.

Jack and Trent both began growling, their eyes turning pitch black. They just got their mate back, this time no one was going to take her away from them.

Lennox and Ava walked into the house, they checked on Loralei and paid their respects to Cora. Lennox felt so sad, but he felt devastated for his moms and grandmother. Adonis and Ares walked in a few minutes later, they hugged their sister and then went to their moms and grandmas side.

The family came together and for a few hours they shared their stories of Glan and how much he’ll be missed. They talked about Loralei being pregnant and how they couldn't wait to have little feet running around. Loralei was heartbroken to hear about her grandfather, she was the closest to him. She promised to make that monster suffer.

“Where’s Marcelo being kept?”, Loralei asked.

Ares looked at his sister, “The bastard is in the dungeons. Brothers and I have already paid him a visit”, Ares said his eyes black as coal.

“Don’t worry about him Lor, he will pay for all he’s done to our family”, Adonis added.

Loralei nodded, “Lets get ready”, Loralei stood up with her mates.

The number two lycan warrior Garrett walked in to inform his Alpha’s that the preparations were made and they were ready to start the burial tradition.

His eyes turned black as he turned to Loralei, “Mate”, he growled.

Jack and Trent automatically went into defense, standing in front of their mate, ready to pounce. “I think the fuck not!”, Trent roared.

Just then Jack was engulfed in a vision, he was looking at a beautiful little girl. Dark blonde hair and purple eyes. The little girl turned into a young teenager, Garrett following behind her. In an instant the girl turned into an even more beautiful young woman, she looked just like his mate but with blonde hair. It was their little girl, he just knew it, he could feel it.

“She is special, she will reunite the original members of our species. Her mate will love her unconditionally and will help her fulfill her destiny. Her destiny has already begun even before she takes her first breath and her mate will know she is his before anyone”, these words kept repeating over and over.

“It’s not Loralei”, Jack said as he came back too.

He touched Loralei’s belly, “We’re having a daughter”, he smiled at Loralei who was beaming.

“She’s Garretts mate and together their destiny has already been decided”, everyone looked shocked. No one has ever found their mate in an unborn child.

“I don't want our daughter to have a damn mate already”, Trent growled out.

Everyone looked amused at him, “It has already been decided”, Jack said again.

Trent looked at Garrett, “We’ll talk to you later”, Trent said waving his hand. Loralei smacked his arm and walked towards Garrett.

“Hi Garrett”, she greeted.

“My Princess”, he bowed his head.

Loralei began laughing uncontrollably until tears ran down her face. “I’m only eighteen and not only am I pregnant with twins, but one of them is a little girl mated to Garrett. I already have a son in law”, everyone began laughing. This was definitely a laugh that was needed, especially after what the last two days have brought.
