Strong and Fierce

Ares and Adonis POV

Ares and I led our team to the tunnel that Alpha Axel had sent us the location on. Momma Selene was with us and so was Jack. We had some witches and merfolk with us as well. The tunnel should be easy to navigate, especially if we catch our sister’s scent.

Arlo kept snarling in my head, he was furious and promised to have his turn with the vampire lord. “That piece of garbage had the fucking audacity to kidnap my sister, a royal and assault her. He will pay with his life, but not before we torture him.

After a few hours of running, Arlo perked up happily, “Arlo, whats got you so excited”?

“I don't know, but I feel like we’ll find out soon enough”, he said.

Like that made any sense, but okay.

“Mom, you okay?”, I asked.

“I’m fine baby, just eager to kill some filthy bloodsuckers and find your sister. Goddess knows the turmoil she’s feeling and knowing your sister, she blames herself”, mom said sadly.

“She’s not to blame, none of this is her fault”, Arlo growled.

He was right, my sister took pride in being the strongest, she’s amazing. She is strong and compassionate, a true Queen. But I knew mom was right, she’ll blame herself. She over analyzes as well and I know that she’ll want to be alone, but we won’t let her.

“Mom, you know we can't leave her alone when we find her right? She gets into her own head and she needs to know that no one blames her for what happened. We love her and nothing could ever change that”, I said.

“I know sweetheart”, Selene took a deep breath.

“Brother, Argo is excited, is Arlo as well?”, Adonis asked.

“Yes, it’s strange, did Argo say why?”, Ares responded.

“No, but I suspect we’ll know soon enough”, Ares cut the link.

“Momma, it’ll be okay I promise, they’ll find Loralei. In the meantime we get to kill the vampires and make them regret ever hurting her”, Ares tried comforting Selene.

“And they’ll all burn in hell where they belong”, she snarled ready to avenge her daughter.

“You know, I have the strangest feeling I know the woman who helped her, regardless we are forever in her debt”, Selene said in thought.

Selene couldn't shake the feeling that she knew who helped her daughter, the image Jack sent them didn't show the woman’s face clearly. Her hair was matted and she looked exhausted, but deep down she felt a flicker of recognition.

After about another hour, Adonis and Ares picked up their sisters scent, she definitely took this way out. They were at the right tunnel and were now on high alert, they’ll follow her scent and kill everyone in this damn castle.

“We picked up Loralei’s scent, we’re headed into the castle. Dad, Mom, when you get close to the castle, we’ll attack from the inside while you and your team kill everyone on the outside”, Ares quickly told Xavier and Nahla.

“Sounds, good son”, he answered.

“We’ve also, caught Loralei’s scent, we’re a few miles away from the cave”, Xander told everyone.

Everyone seemed to calm down at that, Xander and Alpha Axel’s team will be rescuing Loralei and taking her home, she's finally safe.

It was time for the taste of vengeance.

The closer we got to the tunnel, the most intoxicating scent hit me, coconut and smoky pineapples.

Within a minute, that amazing scent engulfed us, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen was waiting for us. She had fiery red hair, lightly dusted freckles on her face, and the most amazing amber eyes, now turned dark as we stared at each other.

“Mate”, I growled out as I shifted into my human form.

Adonis right behind me, “Mine”, he growled at the same time.

“Well I’ll be damned”, she licked her lips.

“Mila?”, My brother and I said at the same time.

“You boys sure did grow up since I last seen you”, she smirked.

We could hardly believe it, one of our closest friend is our mate. “We’ve always liked her”, Argo told Ares.

She’s a few years older than us and when she became commander of the mercenaries we saw less of her, she was always away on missions. We didn't know she was our mate because our mermaid only fully awakened a few days ago. She’s our mate for both of our animal forms and I was damn happy.

“Let’s focus at the mission at hand my sexy mates”, Mila pecked them both quickly.

The twins shifted back into their magnificent lycan, Selene was smiling ear to ear at the interaction. Everyone loves Mila, she’s a wonderful person. Her fierceness will contrast Ares’ more laid back attitude but challenge Adonis’ wild ways.

“We’ll follow Loralei’s scent, it will lead us into the castle. We’ll split off into three groups, kill everyone on sight.”, ordered Adonis.

“Yes Alpha”, and they took off into the maze like tunnel.

“We’re about two miles out, the second your team enters the castle we’ll attack with the mercenaries that are on the outside”, Xavier told his son’s and mates.

Rescuing Loralei

Xander was leading his team to the cave his daughter was in from the South. The entrance was there, Alpha Axel is leading his team from the North, both teams killing whoever they came across. When they came to the cave, there was no entrance in sight, but they knew she was there. Her scent was everywhere, Ava stepped forward.

"Revelare”, Ava said as she raised her hands, revealing the small entrance that was hidden.

Being the future Queen of Witches and the most powerful witch to walk the Earth definitely had its advantages. Ava can break most spells with the least amount of difficulty.

“Alpha Axel, have your team secure a ten mile perimeter”, Xander ordered.

He bowed his head in understanding, leaving to do what was asked of him.

“I need half my team to spread out over two miles, the other half surround the cave”, Xander ordered.

“Yes Alpha”, everyone went to take their position.

“Ava and I will be the only ones to go inside and get our girl, you won’t fit through the entrance son”, Cora spoke to her son in law.

Xander nodded, “Okay, bring my daughter back to me”.

“We will Alpha”, Ava said nodding her head.

She and Cora squeezed into the small entrance, it was a tight squeeze but they went into the dark cave.

“Volans Lumineria”, Ava snapped her fingers, floating lights appeared following them.

After several minutes they came to a fork, Ava let her lycan Nova come forward, using her heightened senses, “Take the left path”, Nova said.

Ava went left, Cora close behind her and after a few more minutes of walking the cave opened up to reveal a beautiful shallow pond. High ceilings and large rock pillars with all kinds of crystals imbedded into them surrounded them. The crystals that were imbedded into the cave walls provided colorful lighting throughout.

“We’ve been waiting for you”, a woman’s voice called out.

She walked out from behind a pillar, “Oh my goddess, Farrah? Is that you?”, the shock and confusion all over Cora’s face.

“It’s been a long time my friend”, she smiled at her best friend.

“Farrah? As in my moms closest friend?”, Ava asked shocked.

“Yes dear”, Farrah stepped forward.

“Oh my, how you’ve grown up Ava, you’re just as beautiful as your mother”, she stepped forward.

The three woman embraced one another, Cora couldn't believe her best friend and Mariana’s mom was still alive after all these years. Everyone felt her die or at least that’s what they thought. They had all the time to talk about this later though.

“Where’s my granddaughter?” Cora asked.

“She’s sleeping now”, Farrah smiled sadly.

“Cora, you need to know that Loralei has endured so much pain and trauma in the past two days. Her lycan is still a bit weak because she’s been protecting the babies”, Farrah explained to Cora and Ava.

There eyes widened in shock, “Yes, she’s pregnant, scared, and worried. But she’s so strong and fierce”, Farrah turned and began walking.

She led them to a sleeping Loralei, Ava and Cora couldn't help the tears of happiness that rolled down their cheeks.
