Chapter 12

Vampires

Loralei shifted into Lyla and ran towards the fight, why the hell were vampires attacking the pack. There had to be at least two hundred vampires fighting. Lyla spotted her father Kade ripping a vampires head off. As heads rolled onto the field Adonis was lighting them on fire and turning them into ash. She saw her grandparents killing several vampires and her mate Magnus currently had a bloodsucker in his mouth.

From the looks of it these vampires are newly turned, they’re not coordinated and their eyes are bright red. “Someone sent them here”, Lyla told Loralei.

“I know, but exactly what are they after?”, she thought out loud.

She didn't have time to think about that right now, she saw a young warrior fighting three vampires. She ran towards him, leaping in the air and clamping down on a vampire, ripping his head clean off his shoulders. Swiping her claws she decapitated another. The warrior nodded his big wolf head in thanks.

Lyla ran towards her grandfather, he was fighting several vampires. Before she could get to him she felt a small prick and before she could process what was even happening, she fell to the floor, unconscious.

The last thing she could hear were her mates yelling for her as she shut her heavy eyelids.

Xander POV

Before The Vampire Attack

I sat in my office with Trent as we watched over Chelsea. Thank the goddess Ava bound her and kept her from moving and talking. The last thing I wanted was to hear her crying.

“Alpha, you’re okay, being told to stay?”, Trent asked.

“My daughter commanded it, this is her mission”, I simply answered.

I knew I couldn’t be commanded, but we raised our daughter to make these difficult decisions. This was her show and as much as I wanted to protect her, I knew I had to let her call the shots.

Trent sighed as he paced back and forth, “She’ll be fine, you know she can best everyone at Silver Moon”, I reassured.

He stopped and looked at me, “I’ll kill Charlie myself, I can't believe my own brother betrayed our family and pack”, I knew he was furious.

“When you want something bad enough, you’d do whatever possible to have it. What Charlie has done is unforgivable and he will answer for his crimes. When someone becomes desperate, they lose their humanity, they let the desperation take over”, I explained.

I knew why Charlie did what he did, I’m also angry it’s come to this. I felt bad for his parents, Theo and Jos are great people and close friends of ours. As the Alpha of this pack, I’ll make sure that his punishment is swift and just. The thought of him wanting our daughter had Kade scratching at the surface to go on a killing spree.

“We’re under attack, vampires Alpha!”, Rick and Nick yelled into the mind link.

“We’re under attack, all warriors in position”, I roared to the pack.

“Sienna get to the hospital, shield Mariana and yourself now”, I ordered.

“Sarah get the pups, elderly, and those who are not fighting into the safe house immediately!”, I ordered.

I looked at Trent knowing he knew what was going on, “Let’s kill some vampires”, I smirked.

I turned towards the door, but before walking out I looked at Chelsea, “In case this has something to do with you we can't let you live, can we?”, before she even saw it coming, I snapped her neck. She was going to die anyway, might as well get it done and over with.

I shifted into Kade and jumped off my office balcony, “I wanted to shred her into pieces for trying to kidnap our pup”, Kade snarled at me.

“Sorry bud, you can get the next one, in the meantime let’s kill us some vampires”, I said to him. I could hear Magnus behind me, so I knew he was following close behind.

When we got to where the fight was taking place I noticed there had to be at least three hundred vampires, not any old ones though, newborns.

“Fuck”, I yelled to myself.

“Why the hell are they here?”, I ran towards two of them.

I leaped into the air and ripped ones throat out and landed on top of the other and tore into him. These newborns looked like they were in search of something, they are somehow being controlled.

After a half an hour of killing them, we were gaining the upper hand, I felt it when my mates joined fight. Great there back, but I had a bad feeling about all of this.

After several minutes, the vampires just stopped attacking. I turned around to see my daughter unconscious on the ground. Right before our eyes, an older vampire appeared and grabbed Loralei, disappearing. Kade and I began snarling and growling, “We have to find our pup”, Kade kept repeating.

The damn vampires just vanished, all of them.

Current POV

Xander and Xavier sent three different search groups, each of their sons leading a search. Selene and Nahla were besides themselves, Cora and Glan were trying to calm them down to no avail. Their mates tried to calm them, but both lashed out, not that they could blame them.

“Where the fuck did vampires come from and why?”, Xavier shouted for the up-tenth time in the last ten minutes.

Trent had gone to search for his mate while Jack stayed behind. He was trying to call forward a vision through his mate bond, without success. It has been nearly six hours since Loralei was kidnapped and there was still no sign of her.

Everyone turned around when Jack bagan convulsing on the floor, Selene quickly ran to him, placing her hands over his to heal him. After a few minutes he came to and blinked back tears.

“I saw her, I can’t”-, he couldn't finish his thoughts. Selene read his thoughts

“Noooo!”, she screamed in anguish before teleporting out of the office.

“What did you see?”, Xander asked frantically, terrified of the answer he was going to get.

“A Vampire Lord took her, his name is Marcelo. Your father killed his firstborn child and only son so he’s come to return the favor”, Jack paled.

“What aren't you telling us!”, Xavier yelled.

Jack cleared his throat, the tears falling freely now, “Marcelo plans on using Loralei as a breeder, the pain I felt was her being-“, cut off.

“Don’t say it!”, Xander roared.

“Noooo, goddess no”, Xavier fell to the floor, tears escaping his eyes. His little girl, his princess, why was this happening.

“I’ll torture him before I kill him”, he vowed.

“I need to call the council, they should have information on who and where this mother fucker is”, Xavier stood up.

Meanwhile, on the search Lennox was leading Magnus fell over in pain. He could feel his mates pain and desperation through Lyla. Magnus was howling in anguish, Lennox ran to him, “What’s happening Trent, what’s wrong?”, he mind linked him.

“Loralei, she’s in pain”, was all he responded with.

“Helen please take Trent back to Silver Moon”, Lennox ordered one of the mermaid hybrids that were with him.

“Yes Alpha”, she shifted into her human form and teleported back to Silver Moon with Trent.

Nahla couldn't find Selene, her sister put a block up so she couldn't even teleport to her. Xavier has been on the phone with the Council and Xander has been looking for his mate. Their three children were searching for their sister and his daughters mates were destroying everything in sight. Glan and Cora have gone to the other factions, to inform them of what was going on.

Xander dropped to the grassy field and began cursing everything in sight, “Why?!”, he yelled into the forrest.

“Why must my daughter pay for the sins of my fathers!”, he yelled, cursing.

Xander couldn’t recall any stories in his childhood where his dad mentioned a vampire lord. Who was Lord Marcelo and why did his father Alpha Xavian kill his son?

Selene POV

Selene teleported to her cousin Adrian and his mate Queen Lunan. Praying to the gods that Lunan the former Crowned Assassin Queen knew anything of who the hell Lord Marcelo is. Lunan carried out hundreds of missions for the supernatural community, if anyone knew who he was, it was her.

Selene teleported straight to Adrians office, where he was working on pod paperwork. He saw the look in his cousins eyes and quickly ran to her, “Selene, what’s happened? Talk to me?”, he’s never seen her this distraught before.

“I need Lunan”, Selene chocked out, as he rubbed her back and called for his wife.

Whatever happened must of been horrific, his wife was only known as two things, being loyal Queen and being a heartless assassin. And based on how his cousin was acting, Selene was out for blood.
