My Emily, I'd kill anyone that lays a filthy hand on her. Devin was still standing at the corner of the barboy. He was on a black padded shell bomber jacket and fitted black jeans. He was quaffing and looking at him turned my tummy. His black hair was neatly cut and it fell on his sides. I kept moving without direction as Devin distracted me and made me swell with so much anger. I stood for a minute and sat at the barboy's stool ordering a glass of distilled whiskey. I was letting Devin get me overly irritated and it sucked.

Chuckling, I turn my head when the bike comes to a stop next to my car, and watch as Devin removes his black helmet. Devin Devlin, the asshole who hates his name even though it’s feared throughout Ireland. He’s shorter than both Kaz and I, but the fucker is lethal; there’s no empathy behind those green eyes of his. Where Kaz and I are reserved, Dev is the feral one and where Kaz is the silent, broody type, Dev doesn’t give a shit. He’s a fucking honey badger on crack. Like walking up to me right now, punching me in the fucking ribs, and embracing me — if that’s not a brother, what is.

The young boy’s demeanor was calm and focused, his attention fully absorbed by the pages before him. The book Devon held was not a children’s storybook. It is a book about science and knowledge, books typically reserved for older kids. Yet here was Devon, engrossed in its content despite his young age. As the door of the shop swung open, Devon set aside his book and greeted the customer with a cheerful smile. However, the warmth quickly faded from his expression, replaced by an unusual chill in his eyes when he recognized the visitor. “What are you doing?” Devon asked, his tone cold and guarded.

So out of instinct, Devon bookmarked it. Then, slowly, he opened a new email to Michael. Subject: Next steps. Body: Follow the money. Track the burner. She’s working with someone, and I want to know who. Don’t contact me unless it’s urgent. I’ll be ready when it’s time. He hit send. For a moment, all he could do was sit there. Not as a Hamilton. Not as the heir to anything, just a man caught in the wake of grief, shame, and a storm he helped create.

The guy kept sobbing, and when he faced her, it was clear that he was stunned for a moment before he got over it and told her what happened. "I never thought I'd meet a devil in person. How much more working for him?" He said that in between his sobs as he glared at the highest floor of the building. "I don't have a job now," his shoulders hung low. In order to comfort the man, she patted him. "Don't worry, you'll find another one," she said, sounding reassuring, even though she herself didn't have a job at that moment. "By the way, what happened? Who's that devil you're talking about?"

We will send the demons back to where they belong, but first we will make them live in the torture we create for them. *** This is the end 😭 but there is more in Book 2, My Devil's side, which is seven years in the future and is the last and final book to this story.
