Sucessor

My mother cleared her throat to gather everyones attention, “Thank you all so much for coming out today”, the crowd cheered.

“Today we celebrate the birthdays of our babies”, Aunt Nahla added. The crowd began getting louder, my brothers all grinned like a bunch of idiots, while I’m sure I was as red as a tomato.

“First and foremost we’d like to wish them a happy eighteenth birthday!”, my mom squealed. My Aunt Nahla walked to the other side of the stage, she raised her hand to remove a shield she had in place.

My fathers both looked at the crowd, “On the next full moon, we will be crowning Alpha Prince Lennox as the new Alpha and King of Silver Moon”, they announced.

The pack went wild, most shifting into their animal form, howling into the night sky. After a few minutes they cleared their throat.

“At this time, Princess Ava will be crowned the Luna and Queen of Silver Moon”, they announced. The pack continued to howl in celebration, and those who didn’t shift cheered and hollered.

My Mother and Aunt raised their hands, “During the next full moon, Alpha Princess Loralei, will be crowned the Queen of Andora, along with her mates”, my aunt said.

Most of the pack looked confused at the mention of mates, so I stepped forward. Here it goes, “This morning I found out that my mermaid form also has a mate, I’m proud to introduce Head Tracker Trent Lautnie, as my second mate”, I took a deep breath. I was so nervous when I knew I shouldn't be.

She stepped forward, “Good evening”, she started.

“I’d like to announce that on the next full moon, Alpha Princes’ Adonis and Ares will be my successors, they will be crowned the Kings of Delmare”, she said.

I did not expect that, my brothers are going to be amazing Kings.

Aunt Tasi just announced that my twin brothers Adonis and Ares are going to inherit the Kingdom of Delmare. I’m so ecstatic for them, they’re princes by birth, but they were the youngest. Now they'll have a kingdom of their own to rule and they’re going to be amazing at it.

The whole pack erupted into cheers and congratulations for them. The full moon is in two days and we were all going to be the Queen or Kings of our own Kingdoms. My parents and our bodyguards have trained us, prepared us, and loved us. We were ready to start living our lives.

After everyones congratulations, Trent and Jack walked up to me. Jack nipped my ear, “Say bye to Trent baby”, he whispered huskily into my ear.

I recognized the living room, my parents would take us here for picnic’s and quick dips in the pond when we were younger. I haven't been here in a few years. I looked around and remembered all the fond memories I have of this place. A smile worked its way on my face, this cabin was special to us.

The living room was warm and cozy, the small fireplace crackling and the smell of burning wood around us. I turned to walk towards the bedroom, I was in awe. There were floating lanterns with small fires crackling inside of them and white rose petals leading the way to the bedroom. I felt nervous and excited, I wanted Jack more than anything.
